Only compatible frequencies are 50Hz/100Hz (PAL) or 60Hz/120Hz (NTSC). All other frequencies cause funny results. Sometimes it is refreshing to play Pinball Dreams with 85Hz VSync mode
But first make sure Direct3D VSync is not disabled. |

the strange thing with my computer is, even whn i use 50hz, its too fast. only difference to 60hz is that in 50hz, the sound is very skippy and chopped-up.
just a question because i'm curious: other emus, like zsnes, allow vsync without fiddling around with monitor refresh rate, and work perfectly. isn't this possible with amiga emulation? |

Well, I never witnessed any flickering in ZSnes. Don't know what you're referring to.

I haven't used zsnes but proper vsync (which means for example totally smooth and no tearing in horizontal scrolling) emulation of computer/console that is connected to a regular TV requires the use of 50/60Hz display frequency (or any frequency divisable by 50/60) and 50/60Hz flickers very badly on large monitors.

And with stuff like C64, where the frequency is not exactly 50 or 60 (more like 49.84789437423789234 and 49.704382439 ), only way to get PROPER VSYNC is to connect your machine to TV Out. CCS64 with screen sync, through TV Out, is fan-bloody-tastic, and so is WinUAE!
My monitor doesn't flicker badly at 60 Hz |
