Hi all, its so long ago now and i cant remember exactly which was the first game (i was about 6), but i remember when my brother got his A500 on his birthday, god what a machine it was.
If i think really hard i reckon the first few games must have been Firepower, Defender of The Crown and Wizball. Quality WD |

First game I saw in '86: Defender of the Crown (fantastic gfx)
First game I played: Mindwalker, which came bundled with my A1000 the same year. Interesting game with simple vector gfx but a mystic story. ("They're listening, you know..." I remember) Damn, I'm also sure I posted that already... (well don't mind the redundancy) |

First game that I saw was SWIV. I was impressed mostly by the explosion sounds. Don't know why though.
I had come from C64 and System-80 (TRS-80 clone) before that. I was also impressed by the game's resolution. Cheers Andec |

WorkBench.
Ok, really, it was at a friend's flat (who wasn't into computers at all) and his father had just gotten A500 and I was blown away by WB (I had C64 with GEOS & lightpen myself, so GUI wasn't an unknown concept for me). He only had one game at the time: Surgeon, so that was the first I saw. But, after that I just had to get A500 myself. It quickly happened I was spending more time with my friend's father than the friend itself. I believe this happened sometime between '87-89. |

Can you believe I had to make 3 trips back to the store the day I bought it, because I kept finding something faulty or missing. The best bit was the power supply was faulty, so I got my younger brother to run in while I waited in the car, because I was on double yellows and always got a ticket. He took about 30 minutes to go across the road. When he got back I asked why he had taken so long. It turned out he had gone to the wrong store, and even had them fit a plug to the replacement. |

Probably why you don't remember it then
I got that pack as well and I remember spending the most time with Lemmings. The Simpsons game was okay (and that intro was ace, as you say) and CP was terrible. Also spent a lot of time with Deluxe Paint too |

Luckily, that never happened - usually at least their mother was there too at the same time and she was mostly joking "that it's good Henry (her husband) has finally found some friends with the same level of maturity".

I believe the first Amiga game I witnessed was Shadow of the Beast II back in 87/88 when my mate got his new A500. I still had a C64 so the graphics were mindblowing. We also played the other games included in the pack which were the abysmal Days of Chunder, Night Breed, Robocop and R-Type which wasn't too bad. My favourite game was the rather excellent Rick Dangerous. We played this one the most.
I then had to wait three years to get my Amiga! It was Christmas 1993 and the machine was the shiny new A1200. First game I played on the A1200 was Oscar. The scrolling intro screen was really beautiful back in 1993. Still looks quite nice today. Last edited by Steve; 05 October 2007 at 22:48. |

The first games I played was Switchblade II, it was a great game! When I got my own Amiga 600 I was impressed by Colonization, Settlers and Beneath a steel sky.

The first Amiga game I witnessed then got to play was Jimmy White's Snooker.
But being partially colour blind meant that I wasn't very good at it. On several occasions when I thought I was aiming at a Red ball, I was actually aiming at the Brown ball, lol. |

I think the first I ever saw was "Defender of the crown". Used to play it with my friend's computer.
Shortly after that, I bought my first Amiga.... and I've been hooked every since |
