Quick question on the Early Boot and 60hz

Hi guys,

I know if I hold down both LMB & RMB on boot that I can get to the menu to start in 60hz, which is fine.

However, on re-boot, it reverts back to 50hz.

Is this because my clock battery on my Amiga (of which I dont know where it is ti replace) is dead (My Amiga doesn't keep the time)...

OR

Can you not actually save this setting to boot everytime into 60hz?

It resets on purpose. Why would you need it to stick? Some non-WHDLoad game that needs it?

You cannot save anything in the early startup menu. The clock battery only serves the clock. There is no place to save to on the motherboard.

Well id rather it 'normally' booted into 60Hz and I could change back to 50Hz when needed?

To be honest, it's more out of curiosity. The system knows to boot into 50Hz, so it must know that from somewhere?

What kind of Amiga is it? An A4000 has a jumper on the motherboard to set the default frequency.

I have the same problem with an NTSC 1200. When I select "PAL" it resets and boots wb into my PAL laced mode but when I go to launch games an d apps they always launch in NTSC mode. Which sux because my monitor wont display nTSC modes with my mk2.

Pin 41 of the Alice chip controls if the machine boots up in 50 or 60 Hz mode.

Ground that pin and it boots NTSC default. Leave it high and it boots in PAL.

On an NTSC A1200 if you desolder and lift the pin up, it will boot up in 50 Hz mode by default.
