Awesome stuff! Hopefully they can ramp up production up to speed. I'd love to get my hands on both the A600 and coming A1200 versions.

The A500 and A1200 versions of the board use simpler connectors than the A600 version. The A600 version requires sanding an inverted chip socket until it makes connection. Mass production of the A600 version is difficult.

I read some time ago that the Vampire A1200 wasn't viable as commodore used a non-standard edge connector on the A1200, is that not the case now?

A supplier has been found. The A1200 version may be more expensive than the A500 version though.

Due to the cost of the connector or more complex FPGA?

@BarryB

Either one or the other or both. It's hard to say at this point due to the fact that the A1200 version is not out yet. I'm basing my information on the fact that the A1200 has a 32-bit data bus while the A600 and A500 both use a 16-bit bus. Remember also, that the A1200 version is expected to have 1 GiB of RAM so that will cost something as well.

Yes, when specs are decided on and development gets started then the cost will become apparent.

I hope they keep the costs to under 3 or 400 euros personally. I don't want to pay crazy prices for an accelerator again...
