Apollo 68040

Sadly its giving me a black screen of death.

Taken out the ram and booted same problem

Cleaned contacts on the edge connector still same problem.

Cursed it a bit still same problem

Reseated the mach chip stil the same..

Dont suppose any one can repair these?

Check the battery area for acid damage, it's quite frequent on Apollo 1240s.

Check the corrosion close to battery as other said. Second type of faults are bad contacts on MACH chips inside sockets.

Batter was removed a while ago i will check though as off on my holdays yay

there is a place in france that repairs Accelerator`s. if he is still in bussines.

Yep, I heard that he'd quit...don't send anything

Just go on to AmiBay and have a look. There are some excellent people offering their 'services' on that board for a reasonable price.

i have found a chap on youtube RetroGameModz, he can repair excellerators etc.
he lives in sweden..

just sent him an email.i am hoping for a favourable reply..(fingers crossed )
we might be able to send him some work :-)
