This is really cool man! Looking good with the hxC.
Two questions still remain from me: - Where will the buttons be? - How hot is this thing running? Seems like there's hardly any space inside. KKeep it up! This is one of my favorite Amiga modifications ever. |

I haven't decided where to put the buttons yet cause I haven't figured out yet what are the best looking and nice for modding buttons to choose
Maybe I'll stick with buttons same as the ones that are already mounted on HxC but we'll see. Most probable position would be left from LCD screen but I'll decide after my 2 week vacation It doesn't get hot almost at all since I already have a 4cm low db fan inside that I have it floating around. I think there is space in the airflows to put maybe 1 more 4cm fan just to be sure and cool but will check it out. Thanks for good words guys |

Wow.. The way you've mounted that LCD looks great!!
This has inspired me to get a HxC for myself. Will be fitting it to my A2000. |

I thought of making a small update since from the last time, I have now the new ACA630@30MHz replacing my old Apollo 630@40MHz
Yep it's a piece of art and fits like a glove along with the other hardware that co-existed! Good thing is that the extra socket I putted in the past for raising a bit the Indivision ECS (hacked in A603) for the Apollo to co-exist is a lot better since without it... mounting the clockport cable would be difficult! Since I had some time off today I thought of making the extra mod in my beloved HxC SD Floppy Emulator in order for me to be able to also "Write" instead of only "Reading" floppy images. The mod exists in Jeff's Release notes (that can be downloaded with the new firmware from his website) and consists of 4xResistors, 1xCapacitor and 1xMicrochip. Well since finding the microchip was a pain in the butt to find here (check: http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=12432) I ordered it from eBay so while waiting for it to arrive... I used a socket instead to finish my mod Cool isn't it OK here are now all put-up together And to finish this post... Here's some photos of the case (semi) closed and WB up and running. 1st pic is a ClassicWB AdvSp installation (DH0@PFS3) while 2nd pic is a OS3.9 (DH1@PFS3) installation. Both reside in 2 different partitions in the CF drive selectable via Early Startup Menu. Well for a old ECS machine... I'm pretty well proud! I'd like to thank d0pefish and Cammy for sharing some info and ideas that helped me a lot! Cheers and more to come soon |

Thanks a lot Bloodwych my friend. I can't believe how perfect and fast your ClassicWB operates even in 16 colors!
Always been a fan of your work but now... it's so thrilling, I'll probably toss my 3.9 installation for this little beasty I can't wait for the firmware upgrade of Indivision ECS that will support 800x600 modes @ 16 colors! |

Nice, glad it runs so well! I thought it might be slow in 16 colours with Newicons. That's an awsome wallpaper by the way for 16 colours - did you edit the palette to get it looking so good or free up the fixed pens?
Great project and thanks for the detailed account - it's been an enjoyable read. |

Marios thats some pretty awesome shit right there!
What does OS3.9 run like for you? Are the icons very slow to load for example? Maybe a little demo vid? Also be nice to see how the CWB operates too... Keep up the great work mate, if some mug buys my Apollo 620 I'll be joining the club Steve. |

Bloodwych mate, the palette I'm using is Rebel's custom Palette that Cammy gave some time ago.
It's locked and used via FullPalette22. The wallpaper is a nice wallpaper I use but rescaled to 640x512 and converted via ImageStudio to IFF by using Rebel's Palette with Floyd Steinberg dithering I made quite some wallpapers and they most look pretty awesome! Fitzsteve my friend, I'll post a YouTube video tomorrow with both partitions booting to check the time and response. With 8 colors both systems were blazingly fast. With 16 colors they are a little bit less responsive but a lot better than what it was with Apollo and 8 colors. So I'd though of... keeping 16 colors for the beauty of it! After all most of times I use Bloodwych's awesome shortcuts via right click so no much time opening and closing folders |

very nice mod
ever thought of buying a spare trapdoor and cutting it up to create a blanking plate for the floppy drive hole, of course cutting in a slot for the SD card? just an idea |

I'd just like to make you aware that in the ADVSP pack, which uses Scalos, you can set the palette via Settings->Scalos->Palette (top menubar) - no need for FullPalette, Scalos supports fixed pens natively. There you will find some fixed colours for MagicWB icon compatibility already set - they may be conflicting with FullPalette. Looks like it's working ok however from your screenshot. Cammy released a FullPalette AND a Scalos prefs file containing the correct colours. Scalos prefs file is the one you want (or set them yourself manually). |

@Djay
Ofc I thought of some way blocking the gap for dust purposes... but I find the idea of inserting some plastic (even in same color) a bit ugly I have something in mind that I'm gonna try in future updates. @Bloodwych I realized that my friend, just after installing FullPalette22! I had the ScalosPalette.prefs and after loading it had the same exactly results. FullPalette is going to leave pretty soon! Thanks for the observation |

Just because Steve asked... I'm attaching a video that I took just before some minutes and shows some basic functions along with boot time of both ClassicWB AdvSP, and AmigaOS 3.9+BB3.
Not many things installed yet but the basic usability Bloodwych my friend... You're the man! (or better... "Is the Daddy"). Sorry for using LotusIII music as your own preview, but I like it also \o/ I hope you'll like it... [ Show youtube player ] |

Wallpapers have 16colors and have been optimized by Rebel's Palette with the help of Cammy
They are just random Google wallpapers if you check them out. Just resized to 640x512 and converted to IFF with Floyd Steinberg Dithering |
