Question No disk switching?

Hi, I'm new to this board and am looking for a way to load Amiga games that use more than one disk without having to return to the winUAE GUI to swap disks.

Is there a way to combine more than one .adf into a single file that winUAE can read?

or to set winUAE up to switch disks automatically when the game requires?

or to install the games so they can be launched from Workbench without asking to switch disks?

What I'm hoping for is a solution where I can have a single screen (from Windows or Workbench) with all of my games listed, where I can just pick the game & load without having to worry about switching disks, in a similar manner to the way my console emulators work.

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried inserting all the ADFs at once (you can have up to four "drives")? Not every game uses multiple drives but some do so you won't have to bother with any swapping then.

The best way though is to use WHDLoad to install them to hard drive. Check out the FAQ for more info on this.

Have you seen http://gbamiga.elowar.com ?

It supports WHDLoad games, so you have exactly what you asked for, a list of games that can be loaded with a click (well 2 actually for whd) and there will be no disk swapping afterwards.

You can use the disk swapper and hotkeys. No need to re-load the GUI just to swap disks.

Thanks guys, it's taken a while to set up, but I now have Workbench, WHDLoad and Gamebase all set up & have managed to install a few games.

Thanks for your help!
