Wing Commander AGA. The A1200 port of the CD32 version places the afterburner on Fire 2. Weirdly, other buttons are not used even if you have a CD32 joypad or something that's compatible.

*EDIT* Correction: It doesn't support a two-button joystick! It just supports my CD32 clone pad in a half-assed manner that I mentioned above :/ I just tried that pad with other 2-button games, and none of the buttons are recognized as Fire2.

Sorry for OT, but: No luck. The pad works with other CD32 games. But for WC AGA, just the gun fire and afterburner buttons work.

NightBreed (A500 screengems pack) I used a 2 button joystick to run in the graveyard.

I've the slight impression that Legends and Speris make use of the second button, but I'll have to verify this when I get home.

I played Mortal Kombat yesterday and saw no 2 buttons option on the option screen, and the 2nd button did nothing while playing it.

I am still amazed how well the game plays with just 1 button though.

It's Mortal Kombat 2 that has the option.

Yeah, I remember the option on MK2.
MK1 is listed here though, that's why I thought it would have 2 button support.

Blastar by Core also supports a two-button joystick; the second button is used for the smart bomb.

But this feature has to be turned on from the options menu first, because by default the controls are set to one button joy + spacebar for bombs.

Mortal Kombat 1 has 2-button support. Check the manual.

Checked the manual. It indeed says it supports 2 button joysticks... also it looks like there's no need to turn the option on.

Must be WHDload again messing up with my controller.... Apidya did the same.

Yes, there are problems with specific game pads in specific WHDLoad patches. Always good to have more than one. My Tecno Plus, Honeybee CD32 and Mega Drive pads together works with all games though.

It's also worth mentioning that a lot of games work only with certain types of 2 button controllers.

The most standard type and the one supporting most games seems to be the Sega Master System type of joystick and anything compatible with it.

Sega MEgadrive controllers are not always supported. This has to do with some resistor thing not being pulled up from a line or something (it has been explained to me before).

So if you have a Sega Megadrive pad, a lot of these games might just not work with two buttons.
Also WHDLoad patches seem to favor the Master System pads, when they get the support added. Example: Turrican 3 works great in the original with Megadrive pads, but not the WHDLoad install.

In another thread someone said WHDLoad patches the games to support the CD32 pad, that's why the Sega pads don't work.

I am not saying you are wrong, but from what I know from those pads, it's really weird that it wouldn't work with the Mega-Drive pad.

I have a few DB9 male/female connectors around here, I guess I could easily build an adapter to make the signal going through the DB9 connector to be identical to the Master System one (I think you only have to cut the +5V and the Select cables).

The only Master System pad I have here to test is a 6 button thing made by Tec Toy for a certain Master System model they produced, where A and B is button 1 and C is button 2, start pauses the games (this model has no pause on the console) while X+Y+Z is used to reset it. Master System pads are hard to come by. I wish I still had my Master System joystick that I bought the same day I got my A600 back in 1992

This controller works finely on classic Master System or even on a Mega-Drive running Master System games (even on games that go crazy with the Mega-Drive pad like Wonderboy in Monster Land ) but without the controller pause or X+Y+Z reset working. I have no idea how this X+Y+Z and Start is sent through the DB9 connector and I am really afraid to plug it on my computer (When I was 12 years old I would plug it fearless like there was no tomorrow, heh)

No, because I just opened the box of SHAQ FU and checked the manual, and according to it the game supports a two button joystick.

Although I didn't even know this until now, despite using a MegaDrive controller to play my Amiga games back then...but then again, I didn't really play Shaq Fu so much lol.

I think Shaq Fu is not so bad as reviewed on YouTube, it's just different.

Yeah I sort of agree, it got bad reviews in almost all magazines back then, but it's not actually such a bad game. Animation is smooth, there are a lot of fighting moves, and I think the Amiga version even has more characters to choose from than the SNES version.

And back then I actually completed the game, both the Tournament and the Story mode, and it was challenging and even quite fun at times.

But it was the massive amounts of disk swapping that constantly irritated me, and I believe this was the main reason why everyone hated it...and also it came out at the same time as Shadow Fighters, Mortal Kombat 2, Elfmania and the Body Blows series, and in comparison to these games it didn't look so good.

But if Shaq Fu had been released in 1988 then I bet everyone would have hailed it as a technological marvel and all Amiga owners would have been very proud to own a copy of it.

And as far as I know, the red and blue buttons on the CD32 work just like they would on a Master System pad.
The problem here are Megadrive pads, that aren't standard like the others. MSX pas also work the same way as master System ones I think, so I would say that's how the standard is supposed to work and anything else is just deviating from how things should be.

If anybody knows what this adapter should be like I am interested, I am tired of having a Megadrive pad but never being able to use 2 buttons on games that support them.
