You know, as an aside when I bought my first Amiga second hand, that game was included in the package, and the box (and the name!) looked really goofy, tacky almost so I never got around to playing it; and when I left for Uni it was one of two boxes I left at home! And because of a thread recently discussing space RPGs I looked it up, and found the Amiga Power review... and "even that bastard Stuart Campbell liked it" as they say in the trade. So it must have been really good... and now I feel silly for judging a box by it's cover! Must get around to playing it one day...

Wings of Fury:

I really had problems with landing on that damn carrier. I always took the wrong side to land which always resulted in a crash. At that time, Colin was not only here, he was my best friend.

I really liked the idea behind MegaTraveller 2... i loved the character creation.
I thought that big money and high age would be the real deal in that game.

I couldn't get anywhere in Space Rogue while I really loved the idea of it. Never got much further then the first spacestation and wandering in space around a bit.

That reminds me...
Rogue Trooper
Never got beyond level 1. Was too difficult, and not a very good game imo. Came with a rather depressing cult comic.

That's probably because Green is the colour of Justice, and so is in the Dungeon Wrong and not the Abyss...

Space Hulk. I think it's simply too hard to complete any level.

Night Shift. It's too chaotic, you have to check dozens of things at the same time on a gaming area of 4-5 screens... how?

Yeah, right. When the aliens come, forget about tactics and run. Makes you high on adrenaline, though.

I think I knew how to play the game as I understood you just had to conquer several points on the map in which you could apply several different tactics but I never understood how to draw back the enemy forces. Sometimes I was able to conquer two sites but in the meanwhile the enemy overtook half of the map

Never got anywhere in Midwinter II, controlsystem was too confusing. Still I would like to try them again one day, Midwinter had it's charm, somehow it all felt really credible, like Hunter.

A few games really puzzled me, I had absolutely no idea how to progress from the start:

Captain Blood (mentioned here a few times already). A really, really French game indeed

Infestation by Psygnosis. I loved the graphics and "Alien-like" atmosphere, but I always died almost right away (oxygen ran out or something, can't remember)

Some games were absolute nightmare if you didn't have the game manual

Grab the latest WHDLoad version of Infestation from The Zone and use Custom2=1 tooltype for near invincibility. I never understood it as well, but after doing the update I was able to get pretty far into the game. You will however, spend a lot of time mapping the underground colony.
