AmigaOS 4.1 for AmigaOne X1000 gone up in price

AmigaOS 4.1 for AmigaOne X1000 has gone up in price by about £50. Why is this?

Really interrested.

I dont get it!!
There are cheaper alternatives for ppc out there!
Or maybe Arm.
I would get a system running aos 4.1 just to support them. But as long as the price for a system to run it on is the same as one months salary!
that wont happen!

If you had asked, we would have said.

The X1000 is supplied with OS4.1, so there is no need to ever buy it. That link you were obviously looking at is for Beta testers only. The price difference was due to the licence cost being added, as it only included the packaging for the OS in regards to beta testers.

LMFAO.

Seriously it was only enabled for a Betatester and it was left on system.
Its now removed as it should have been.

Special Request

Although it's not for sale on Amigakit's Website anymore, can a customer order AmigaOS 4.1 for X1000 by special request?

Collector

I'm a Games and Software Collector, so I have quite a lot of Physical Versions like Amiga Forever 2012 Premium Edition, CD32 Video Creator and New and Sealed Amiga games stacked nicely on my table. Have some Digital downloads of similar software and games which I play unlike the boxed editions. I used to have the brand new Amiga 1200 Magic Pack but sold it to another enthusiast who wanted it for his Games Collection, own an Amiga CD32 now with a Floppy Disc Drive installed but play most of the games on WinUAE. Saving up for an X1000, so when I finally have enough money to buy one I might have a boxed version of AmigaOS4.1 sitting nicely next to my Boing Ball Tower

You do understand that the X1000 comes with OS 4.1 once you order it? There's really no need to argue about an outdated beta offer that much here, is there?

Wink Classic

Oh right, that explains it. AmigaOS 4.1 Classic looks so unbelievably cool on an Amiga 1200, I wonder if you could install it on an Amiga CD32 with an SX-32 expansion pack and Floppy Disc Drive installed. A friend says to you 'can we play some CD32 games on your console' and you say 'Sure, I'll just load up Superfrog on OS4.1' and his facial expression would be in awe

Not possible unless you own the only PPC cd32 in existance.

Read FOL's post again.

If you don't have one, then none.

Speaking of PPC, it must be pretty cool to play Wipeout 2097 on your Amiga 1200

(the demo on youtube shows it as a resizable desktop window running on the OS GUI...try that in Windows XP version!!)
