Drive Sound --> Official WinUAE
I know this has already been requested, and Toni (and Chipmunk) are working out finer points but I thought I'd officially request it here in the interests of 'completeness'.
Integration of 'drive sound' into the official WinUAE binaries. Nothing more to say |

Well, presumably the 'drive sound' will be an option, so it's neither here nor there

Also @Toni or @Chipmunk, when WinUAE is in stereo mode, would it be possible to have DF0: in left speaker, and DF1: in right speaker?
That way it'd be easy to distinguish which drive is working, and also it'd feel more like the sound was actually coming from a different place (i.e. external drive). As for DF2: and DF3:, well I don't imagine most people regularly use those. |

Drive sound will be totally separate from regular Paula audio in my version. I can't accept Chipmunk's audio code directly due to some problems...

Toni, why would you integrate it into the Paula emulation anyway? I mean the sound *shouldn't* be coming from the sound chip anyway, would it? I'd expected the drive sound would be completely separate...? |

You could always shovel the drive noise for each drive through its own DirectSound secondary 3d buffer so that each drive can be independently positioned in 3d. If you've got a Sensaura chip it would make a huge difference in perception.

You mean each drive could have it's own panning? That way - apart from different drive samples - you would be able to make out which drive is "working"...

you could always have a real amiga close by.. when you load the adf into Winuae, put the same game floppy in the disk-drive
Complete accurate to 100% solution |

Floppy sound code is now in my tree (but implementation is slightly different)
Any ideas on configuration+support for multiple drives and possible external sound support? Floppy GUI does not have much free space.. |

paul's idea in the other thread looks ok
but that one would need an off option in the drive type select bar and then the types need to stick to the drive letters if you catch my drift :P Quote:

Finished!
- fully configurable (every drive can have different sound or no sound emulation) - one build-in sound - user configurable samples - volume control (next WinUAE also have global volume control + keyboard shortcuts) |

Gordon bennett, that was quick?
Where will we find this new gem, in the beta section, or is it not for our use yet? |
