Uploading with Amiga browsers ?
Is anybody able to tell me if uploads work fine with Amiga browsers ?
I'm using Aweb 3.4 over here, and the upload won't start... Wrong thread, I know :) I'll try it again later on... |

yes, just ZIP the LZX archive again and it should work!
(RCK's recognition script is a bit quirkier than you might guess, so just playing a trick on it by RENAMING the file to ZIP doesn't work, heheh! ) |

Yeah, I'm aware of that ZIP problem. When I read the note in the ADF
zone, I immediately zipped the LZX. Didn't want to upload 2 MB, just to get informed afterwards that the filetype was not recognised... But the problems is that the transfer doesn't seem to start :-/ I'll try it once more, if it still doesn work, I'll have to mail it to one of you guys. Or you give me some FTP site.. |

I've moved this onto abime.net's board, so RCK takes note. Amiga browser users should be completely supported!

@Korodny: I don't think your problem comes from the file type. If there is nothing at screen (no error or success message) when you click on "Upload your file", then the problem is on your side...
I'm using standard form in order to upload the files in the zone, does your actual browser support them correctly ? I don't think I can do more for compatibility on my side, try to use another Amiga web brower @anyone which can upload files into the zone with one Amiga web browser: which one please ? |

@RCK:
Sorry for the late reply (I'm not visiting regularly and I didn't notice that Akira moved the thread). I tried to upload the file in question once again (a 4k testupload I did first worked fine) and it failed again (see below). The file in question is a zipped LZX. I thought it may be to big (it's 2004198 bytes, which *is* actually 1,9 MB, but perhaps your board disgrees ;-) and therefore split it into two files. The problem was the same: When the upload is finished, a message comes up: "error: you are not logged in, you don't have permission to access this page". I login again (though I was logged in already, of course) and the next page says: "error: there was no description for the file given" (of course I entered a description). What could be the reason for that ? Is the zone using Cookies ? |

Yep !
The zone is using board identification for upload. so you must be logged (with cookie it will be better) to perform a full upload. |

All right, Full upload process where only available for board members who where using cookies.
I have fix this issue so the others logged member (with ID in url) should also be able to perform full upload now. btw, the max upload limit is arround 2097152. |

As long as we are discussing bugs in the zone, any idea how come those two sets of uploads I did never would display? Is there an uploads log you can check. I can't remember off the top of my head what the uploads were is why I ask, but it may also give some hints. The response screen indicated that the uploads went OK and any attempts to re-upload were given a response that the files were indeed there (filename already exists), so it'a all a matter of how come the uploads don't show up on the list.

I know twist, I have already check for that & deleted your "strange files".
What we can do is you will try to re-upload those game and PM me about it, so I will be able to track what's going wrong. In my mind, I think it was the " [ ] " in your filenames which had produced the problem. |

@RCK:
Yes, that's it! Now I'm able to upload with Cookies disabled. Thanks a lot for the quick fix. |
