if the IP 192.168.0.10 won't help, how can it do so by adding 190 to the last number?

nopes, my routers IP is 192.168.0.1. Which is why I set the amigas IP to 192.168.0.10
Besides, I've got three PC's (one a netbook with wireless) on 192.168.0.* |

I believe ip 1-199 are reserved for DCHP. Assign the last number 200 and I think you will be all set. 192.168.0.200 |

Nopes, not reserved at all.... it's either automatically assigned by router, or manually fixed.
I'll try, though... don't think it'll help at all, but hey... as my workplaces' slogan goes... "every little helps" :P |

Allright... so I turned off WPA and WEP, and went thus non-secured.... fired up MiamiDX, and tolf it to fetch "adres fetched from DHCP" and I was at least able to connect up and get AmigaExplorer running, doing that.
The 'net still eludes my trusty old love, though |

Thanks, Nova, I've managed to connect to the home network, however, I'm "only" missing internet now... which I take is a good sign the wireless is working.
*sigh* I wish wireless was never invented..... it's a complete headache to locate the problem area :/ |

Static IP is always better, I find, keeps computers computing and not fighting over DHCP allocation.
This machine 192.168.2.250 Wife's Machine DHCP Music Machine DHCP Miggy 192.168.2.40 I just haven't updated the Music Machine's IP |

Fighting over DHCP allocation? Sorry, but I think you have no idea how it actually works. There might be points against DHCP under certain circumstances, but surely not that.

Static IP's are more basic though, and it's best to keep it simple if you're having connection issues.

Me too!~
Hi I get exactly the same problem and also when I try to configure the interface of my 3c589 3com network card it says "unknown version installed (9256 bytes)" but I have used a CD-ROM drive to install easynet. Any ideas ?

I've just had this problem, same hardware, installed from CD onto a clean ClassicWB setup (which is amazing, btw. Superb work!) I found the solution was to run AMITCP:bin/agnet before starting EasyNet from the icon. After that everything is fine. |

Windows XP does suffer from this problem, it happened many times on my old network before I configured it properly. I couldn't believe it.

If DHCP isn't configured correctly all clients should 'suffer' the same way. Otherwise you just did something else wrong. Still there's no 'fighting' specific to any OS or DHCP server.

I had to take down the security on the router to get my Amiga to connect. I am trying to figure out how to secure my network, and my Amiga, now.
