GAB/GAEB closed forever..!!!
If you are a registered member of the German Amiga Board/German Amiga Emulation Board you should recieved an email that tell you that the GAEB (last called as GAB) is closed forever...
The Admin will start a portal in form of the abime.net on 24. October 2004 at www.amigabase.de Not very happy news but it must be told in any way... Keep the Amiga alive....anyway.... Last edited by Joe Maroni; 19 October 2004 at 21:28. |

From what little I know of it I agree that whomever creates a successor to your board should change the name if that's your wish.

sorry wk, but i think that most members of the GAB/GAEB didn´t know how much work it does to work with PHP/MySQL....
even i didn´t saw any better things on the new board, so i started the poll with the topic if anybody like the new board... maybe you spent many time for that board, but sorry, i think not all of the members knew how PHP/MySQL works... |

I did NOT overtake ANYTHING !!!!
We talk about not letting the community down, I don´t even care about the name, I only still call it GAEB, because all other Users then know what I´m talking about !!! I did NOT make any decision to use ANY old Backup of the old GAEB, that was someone different, guess you know that ! And btw., who do you think you are to discriminate me in personal, without knowing anything about that thing !!! I got all mails here, I got all conversations saved and I did NEVER EVER try to overtake YOUR OLD BOARD, goddamnit !!! The naming thing wasn´t even discussed yet !!!! The only reason because I took the name GAEB2 for http://www.retrobase.tk was to let the people know what it was : An temporary help forum when GAEB was down/offline ..... So DON´T EVER accuse me again of things that I haven´t even considered to do ..... |

In fact the admin of the German Amiga Emulation Board decided that he could better live without its users, so he shut down the board for every visitor. There was no possible discussion ... and right now there is a discussion in the german emulation board, which looks quite different than this thread here. Every time wk was pissed off, the board was closed down. In the last weeks less and less members visited the board, because of personal discussions with the admin. In a short sentence ... our admin wasn´t able to cope with the pressure and to cooperate with its users, so he decided to change the board into a portal, abandon its users and try to ignore a discussion to save the board. Running amok and accusing members, who normally try to find a peaceful solution is not fair. There where a lot of users who thanked Wk for its good work, but this seemd to mean nothing. I am very sorry about the fact that it´s all about personal interests, power and ego-tripping!
