Lotus 2. I didn't play SCR back when, so that might be influencing my decision. Just seems to have a bit more character.

I missed SCR first time round, I'm gutted I did as if I played at the time would have really enjoyed it.
Lotus 2 for me, great music and easy pick up and play. Good smooth graphics too. |

I can't get myself to vote on this one. They're both games in cars and in both you have to win a race... but still I just don't see SCR in the same genre as Lotus, Supercars, Jaguar, Test Drive, etc. etc. It was created with a different purpose, to make you fly through the air and do really gnarly landings and stunty driving. It sacrifices a sense of speed to do so.

Both great games, but I'm going to go with Lotus 2 because the framerate on Stunt Car Racer is pathetic.

Lotus 2. There's just too big a penalty for falling off, and too easy to fall off, in SCR. The farther you get the easier to get that 1 single miss, causing frustration.

Got to be SCR! Every time... Although I am biased, seeing as it's the Amiga game I play most often...
When I play Lotus, I feel I could be better off playing Outrun on MAME. It's certainly a good game, but just doesn't fire me up as much. SCR may be a bit lacking in framerate and prettiness, but it has a great feel and fantastic sense of peril as you fling yourself around some of the higher division tracks. Then there's the unofficial TNT offerings... hmmmmmm......

Hard to say, because both great games. Lotus got a higher frame rate but no speed acceleration or deceleration on slopes. No momentum when you hit a opponent but SCR have. So my choice is SCR. |

Lotus 2 is most likely the best 2.5d racing on the Amiga but Stunt Car Racer gets my vote, because it was a totally different and new approach to the racing genre.
Even to this day, there is nothing comparable out there. Trackmania might be the only game coming close but it's still far away from SCR. Lotus 2 on the other hand had successors back then and regarding Horizon Chase Turbo, there are still new spiritual successors around. SCR was and still is unique. |

Lotus 2 all day long, That title music is epic and its attached to a decent game so yeah, gets my vote.

Difficult to choose actually, SCR is a very nice unique racing game and I have had hours of fun with it. The only negative of this one for me is that the framerate could do with being a bit higher. Lotus 2 is a great game and hours of fun to be had with the 2 player mode and it has a lovely smooth framerate that most other racers on the Amiga could only dream of.
In conclusion Lotus 2 does it for me... just.
