(accellerator) Hardital BigBang [green screen] :/
Hi there Amiga friends!
I've found this accellerator board, the Hardital BigBang, here a picture: some of the socket pins were broken, but I carefully repaired every damaged one. There are two switches connected to this accellerator, I think that one enables the 68030 and the other one switch on and off the board ram (2mb). the memory switch is working enabling or disabling 2mb even in 68000 mode... BTW trying to boot in 68030 mode the amiga get stuck on a "green screen", no more. P.s. I'm on an amiga2000 rev4.3 with a "full-ecs" mod (1mb agnus + new graphics). P.P.s. I hope you guys can help me, i'm really anxious about trying this accellerator. When i was young i had a 512k Amiga 500 with just a green phosphor screen, this board is something i dreamed about back then. Thanks! |

Green usually means RAM issue. Have you tried booting with the 030 enabled and RAM disabled?
Do some of the chip turn really hot? I see there are some DIP switches near the RAM, I suppose you need to set them in a certain way for the entirety of RAM to get detected. Also, I think you might have got 8MB on it! |

I've to say that sometimes is a black and sometimes is a green screen...
I've tried even with ram disabled... no changes sadly It doesn't seems to me that any of the chips gets too hot, btw the two chips on top of the FPU are hotter than the others... It looks like the board have 8mb installed (since it's fully populated), but camed with a 2mb dip switches configuration, and no errors found with amiga advanced analyzer, I've tried a different dipswitches configuration I found online for 4mb, but the analyzer got stuck... I haven't found a configuration to try 8mb... |

Try removing the DIP chips and see if it makes a difference.
Also have you got a known-working oscillator to test it with? |

What kickstart do you have?
I seem to remember that a "coloured screen" when using the commodore A2620 indicated that your accelerators ROM was incompatible with KS2.0+ Although I think it was a RED screen... |

What is the rev of the A500?
it may be incompatible with your modification (Agnus 1mb + new graphic)? |

I tried resoldering the pads and moving the jumper near the power connector back in place, even without full.ecs and 512k + 512k fast it green screen....
the board is labelled as amiga 500 / 2000 accellerator so it should work on the 2000 too... can it be battery leaking related? if it could be is there an easyfix without removing the 68000 socket? |

here a picture of the board near the battery, it seems not too bad to me...
i interconnected those pins with a red circle on the other side of the board... do i have to fix something else? do you guys have any suggestion? the amiga seems to work perfectly, the only thing not working is the accellerator board that keeps on green screening when activated as before. |

I'm not an expert in terms of accelerators directly connecting to the 68000 socket, but I can't imagine of anything so different between the A500 and the A2000 for it to not be working on the latter... Sometimes accelerators weren't compatible with certain motherboard revisions, and the A2000 had plenty of those. Maybe it's just bad luck? |

thanks for keep answering,
i think that the 2000 is good, everything does work without this accellerator, i think you are right, and that i could be just out of luck... btw i've decided to leave it on the 500... since it working perfectly i don't wanna mess more... the only thing i really need is somewhat of device to connect my ide cf adapter to this nice A500 beast! |

First item Not sure if it'll give you any problems with the pre-existing memory on the BigBang though. Otherwise: http://www.students.tut.fi/~leinone3/ide/ide68k.html That one comes without memory on it |
