Please anyone report that I haven't turned completely insane to find [ Show youtube player ] immensely funny.

There are a few soft spots here & there with the dialogues occasionally out of place and the girl not really trying to look anything else than the pretty assistant (at the same time, she had to act beside two very, VERY loony larger-than-life characters).

Still, I should recommend watching it (does deserve at least a 7 in imdb), preferably when you're in the right mood for full-blown pictural nonsense. Just a hint : It has dinosaurs pr0n (sort of).

Saw Gremlins 1 & 2 yesterday, damn those are some freaky movies!!!
Probably saw the around when I was 8 or something and I remember being scared of darkness for weeks, but could stop watching them again and again, lol
AVGN made a great summary movie about it, see here

Also saw the 1st of Critters yesterday, it's still awesome like it was when I saw it in the late 80's how it starts in space, then the two faceless bounty hunters morphing into people, silly scene when one of the gremlins notices "they got a gun", the other one replies "so what" and gets shot. so the first one goes: "FUCK" and runs...

Can't wait for Critters 2... yeah, Critter-ball attack!

yeah critters had some nice ideas (at least the first two...) Especially liked the scene in the lit kitchen with a dark window, and then you see the red eyes... Scared me shitless when I was little.

I also remember another movie from that time which name I've forgotten. What I remember is:

It had tiny, magical and EVIL trolls
These trolls could by the touch of their RING turn people into tree stumps
Uhm.... was a horror movie.. of course....

K, did a 1 sec search and found it immediately :P

Watched "Milk" with Sean Penn

Link...

I thought it was a really good film - I think Penn should get an Oscar nomination for this...

It may not be everyone's cup of tea - the subject matter wont be of interest to some but it was a very interesting, true story.

I thought District 9 was weird...funny...moving...sad...different...and overall, very cool.

At times, I couldn't watch, because I found myself so emotionally attached to certain characters that I was too scared that they were going to be killed off. The coldness of bureaucracy and some power hungry figures also repulsed me, and I felt emotionally drained by the movie's conclusion.

On the flipside, the action scenes were wonderful, so lethal and full on, and there was plenty of warmth amongst the film's protagonists.

I'm personally glad that, while the film started off as a political wake-up call, it moved away from this as it progressed; I go to the movies to be entertained, and not to have some director shove his views down my throat.

And finally...the film's very last scene is just perfect.

that's what makes some movies great in my book, they have to get influential on the viewers mind

Now THAT is the right attitude. I *hate* movies with a personal agenda. That is not what you pay a godawful amount of money for.

If you think that is what makes movies great, then I hope you read books!

Exclamation Appallosa, T4, Land of the Lost (sorry ? get lost yourself !)

Watched Appaloosa. Surprisingly good movie. You really want the good guys to imprison the bad ones.

"Two friends hired to police a small town that is suffering under the rule of a rancher find their job complicated by the arrival of a young widow."

Young widow ? Zelleweger looks like she's past 50 & tired in this movie, sorry for her.

Tried to watch T4 the other morning, seems totally dull... will try again.

Nobody seen Land of the Lost yet ? You should, if only for its high spirit in terms of off-topicness.
This is my favorite scene (not only mine, apparently).

@gimby
I was waiting for a tech person from my ISP this morning, and hadn't sleep,
so I could barely keep my eyes opened while the movie was playing.

First impressions were bad though.
Where's the humor, when does the John Connor hunt by Skynet really start ?

If you disagree, by all means, elaborate
