Question for the boxed version owners...is it the same size as standard big box Amiga games from the 90s ?

Just received mine as a gift from a friend...

The box is actually bigger than standard big boxes (e.g. overdrive) and also bigger than particularly big boxes like the others on the picture:

I just want to thank all the people behind this game too. Truly fantastic.

I like the way you can play it in two ways. At the moment I'm playing it level by level trying to get to the end. Once I'm done I'm gonna play it arcade style and play from level 1 to get the highscores.

That you say that Tsak, warms my heart, just like Worthy does.
So kind of you

The thing with Worthy is that it looks at first sight "simple" but there is so much in it ! All those nice details and those lovely spritework. So Cute

Great Colours, great Music and awesome SFX Tsak ( that beer burp )
Ohh, and the puzzles, traps and supertight gameplay

Man oh Man, this will take me a while to master all the levels and to do it in one go

Seriously, this is a game that can be played casualy sure, but if you want, its made for some real Speedrunner/Highscore challenge.

To finish all those levels with the fastest route possible and collect all the Gems is everything but easy !!!

Speaking of that; how did you get the timing so perfectly right

Where you able to build and test immediately ?
Lots and LOTS of playtesting and beer i guess ..

Everything is so super tight, just incredible. Outstanding work, really

THAT is not easy and takes alot to get everything just right.

What a GEM !!!

My one line review of Worthy would be:

Worthy is truly WORTH IT ! (WARNING: Possible danger of addiction)

Ha, ha, it took a lot of effort to get the "correct" sound right
Bubble & Squeak also has a blurp sound btw

That's right. The overal design is deliberately set in a way to enhance replayability per stage and enough gameplay space for Speedrunners/Highscore challenge.

I first made sure I could beat each level in the safest/logical possible way (so, no cutting corners) while doing a perfect (collect all diamonds + kill all enemies that could be killed). I then averaged my times and added some extra bonus time on top for the final time sets.

In general I was able to build, test, tweak and re-test again each level right away. There's a huge amount of playtesting that went to those indeed.

Most difficult thing basically was to make sure that every level had a distinct puzzle or design theme or idea behind it so that gameplay constantly evolves and the player is facing different challenges as he progresses with the game, even if the individual elements remain the same.
Between levels with a completely original puzzle, there is some recycling of ideas of course ( f.e. a specific challenge in one level gets expanded/upgraded in a later one).

We should have used this line at the box cover!

Thanks, Shufflepuck Cafe and Poing (Workbench game) were the two games I tested touch input with.

Note you can put your finger anywhere, like on a touchpad. It doesn’t have to be on top of the player sprite. I usually put my finger further towards the edge of the screen so I can see better.

Also, you can adjust the mouse speed in the menu. That setting affects the touch motion speed, too.

Ha. ha, thanks Nibbler!

Though I have to say it's not all my doing. Worthy's design was a collective effort, none of it would have been made a reality without Alex's super smooth code and valuable input! Alex also did have a huge say in all the parts of the design and we really made sure we were on the same page while adding x or y feature or working out how it would all fit together.

Overal it's definitely one of the best and smoothest collaborations I ever had!

Fair enough, we *might* consider it once the game is complete
Though I'm not sure if it's really possible. See, Alarcity makes heavy usage of AGA sprites abilities which -I'm afraid- would be practically impossible on an OCS machine.

I am +1 to have Alar City AGA only. A1200 deserves some exclusive titles.

Yeah, i know,Worty was a collective effort, i mean the first thing after the intro that i did was watching the Credits ! Seriously.

Man... you guy guys

Anyway, before i go into my Fan/geek mode i ask better about AlarCity
Would it not been possible on ECS ? (2MB chip and maybe some fastram)

I have yet to try the Demo of AlarCity that came with Worthy. (i have AGA too)
(sorry, was so busy with Worthy, BombJack Beer Edition, testing WHDLoad slaves and life itself )

Greetings and a HUGE THANKS to all of you

Ok, i tried the demo that came with Worthy.
Pretty neat. Ohh, and those little blobs are back. Time to get my revenge on them

Ohh, and the music... sweet vibes. Almost Reggae like, which i dig

But why could this not be on OCS or ECS. Even OCS Amigas can have 8 Sprites per Scanline as far as i know ( and i know shhh... )

I even saw a Scene demo that claimed to have around 100 Sprites .(if i remember correctly but i dont know the name of this demo right now, If i see it again i report. I have it on my CF-HD)

Sure Demos are no games and i only have seen the DemoLevel of AlarCity so far but this could be on an 16-Bit Amiga (but i do know shhhh, the only thing i know, AMIGA makes it possible )

Greetings and looking forward to AlarCity
