Thank you for this. I finally got around to fixing this up. I've been dreading this cleanup for a while but it got easy with your help.

Now, for the next full version, I just need to know which games Retroplay added since the 2.6 update. Not so easy to see anymore since the new structure in his folders... Basically everything updated since 2016-09-12

I'm gonna need help with that list and we can get the 3.0 version out there.

Thanks for the great effort in putting everything in a nice package.

If anyone is interested I have taken the screenshots from the Gamebase Amiga collection and matched as many as I could up with the correct folders (hopefully) in the WHDload pack for use with iGame.

Files converted from PNG to IFF, both 16 and 256 colors. Most images looks almost the same with only 16 colors. Resolution is 320x256.
Archive also contains the empty folders for which I couldn't find a screenshot if anyone wants to fill in the blanks.

You can download them here:

AGA collection 16 colors (379 images):

AGA collection 256 colors (379 images):

I made a python2 Linux script to download Retroplay's collection and unpack to directory structures used in WHDLoad pack:
http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=637
It's not 100% finished, but it works for me. If anyone is interested in testing, please do so.

I have expanded PyRetroplay to generate AmigaDOS script that automates update of collection on the real Amiga. During unpacking of new archives found on Retroplay's FTP directories, they will also be copied to updateYYYY-MM-DD-files directory, and an AmigaDOS script that handles those archives will be created (updateYYYY-MM-DD). After transfering the script and its directory to real Amiga, it can be executed with:
Code:
execute updateYYYY-MM-DD
and it will update WHDLoad collection on Amiga HD:
  • If new game/demo is in archive, it will be unpacked
  • If new version of existing game/demo is in archive, old one will be deleted, and new one will be unpacked
I hope that this will help to all those that want updated WHDload packs on their real Amigas (and use Linux to do so).

The code is available on bitbucket:
https://bitbucket.org/zzarko/pyretroplay

I've added Update 2.7 to the FTP (Commodore_Amiga/WHDLoad_Packs/Update_Packs), however, I've named them "beta" for now. I'd very much appriciate it if someone could check the package for any games I've missed before continuing.

The next step, once I get the all clear on Update 2.7, is to make a new 3.0 package where everything is up to date and fixed (see previous posts).

So, please let me know. Unless you are adventurous, do not get the 2.7 beta files just yet.

If I understand correctly, You want to keep size of window as You set? You must use snapshot (window or all) option in menu.

Remember that WB don't "remember" window sizes (after reset, etc) until you use snapshot option.

I went and got the beta files anyway

Can I suggest something? It was hard for me to determine which version of the packs I had since I had not updated in a long time.
Can you modify your awesome Update tool to leave behind a TXT or something, stating which version of the pack we currently have in each folder? (Games, Demos and Games AGA).

You can even check for the file in case someone accidentally skipped an update or is about to install an older version by mistake!

Thanks for all your hard work!

Sure. It wont matter right now though. As soon as I hear an all clear on 2.7, I'll just package them all together as 3.0, updated and ready.
Of course, for 3.1 in the future, that is easely enough done.

Edit: Might as well do it now.. 1.1 on FTP. Logs to the same folder as the program is executed to. Quick fix to atleast log successful updates.
Example:
2017-08-14 14:35:13 - Succesfully updated "I:\Emulators\Amiga\WHDLoad_Games_Demos\Demos_WHDLoad" with "Update_2.6_Demos_WHDLoad"

Also updated 7z to 16.4 (If updating, just replace Tur-WHDLoad_Updater.exe and delete 7z.exe and 7z.dll).

Edit2: Removed the "beta" part from 2.7. Nobody has complained so far so.. Expect a new 3.0 package soon which has a lot of fixes from 2.0 -> 2.7 (see previous page in this forum).

May I ask; what's the difference between these packs and the files Retroplay that now maintains / provides?

Excellent, thanks!
As it turns out, I did NOT have a proper 2.0 folder and the whole things was a mess. I had to redo it all from zero and redownload everything. So version check is very welcome.

Let's take it one more step though, if you feel like doing a 1.5 version What about checking the dir structure to see if it matches with the previous version to the one we want to update to? That way we surely know if we have the proper folders or if there is a discrepancy we have to fix.

Thanks for your work!

None. This is just unpacked already and ready to be copied to a real amiga. An easy way if you do not want to go one game at a time.
There might be some games that Retroplay does not have in his files as it also comes from killergorilla etc.

That would almost certanly require me to release a new version every update of the packs =) If its a mess, just redo update update 1 and up again. Unless you have savegames etc.

Hi, i have made an archive, and also updated the installer for Nippon Safes. It pass as v1.02.

You'll find the installer alone and the game installed in the zone
