Swos 96 Slowdown with a PPC equipped Amiga

I know i know my friends!! Getting SWOS 96-97 and other games on a heavily expanded amiga seems like it isn't always possible but i thought of asking and see if there is anything i have missed in the meantime. I have a PPC A1200 (175/040) with 160 mb RAM, 6gb CF as HD, Slim Cd-rom, Subway USB, Indivision AGA and a modified PSU. WHDLOAD (registered) seems to do a great job with most of the games but since SWOS 96-97 is MY ALL TIME CLASSIC i HAVE to get it to work as now, whenever i try to start a match i come up to a football match in.....replay. The slowdown is a known issue with WHDLOAD SWOS but no matter what i try (changing the tooltypes obviously) the game is totally crap and unplayable. Has anyone managed to get SWOS 96 working properly with a Blizzard PPC/040? The strange thing is that Sensible Soccer 92-93 works great and fast enough so it means that sth could be done with SWOS 96 too. Is there any Tooltypes' Combination or sth? I would much appreciate your help cause i have tried everything until now.

I dont think so. There are a couple of HD installed versions in the zone that you could try.

Have you tried this:

Quote:
If you are having slowdown problems, could you please try the NOVBRMOVE
option and tell me if there are any improvements or whether or not
SWOS is still the same.
i think this is a known issue as I've read about it before, I think in an Amiga Format issue somewhere. SWOS just doesn't seem to like the 68040 CPU. This is a problem with the game code and not the WHDLoad slave.

I don't think there is anything you can do except downgrade to an 030 or upgrade to 060.

Is there a fix for the SWOS 96 97 slow down problem on Blizzard060? I think the problem is not there when you play using floppies.

AFAIK the WHDLoad slaves need to be re written, I know work started on this but I don't know how much progress. I think there was a bigger post on this subject.
