Question Trouble with GVP A4060 and SCSI!

Hi there, a friend of mine has bought a GVP A4060dt accelerator card. Now, I have some issue with the SCSI part of this card. When I set jumper JP6 (SCSI termination) on (jumper on) only a black screen appears. When I remove the jumper (off) the scsi part works until loadwb. I can see workbench screen and then the system hung. I am not sure why, but when I open hdtoolbox or fastprep the system couldnĀ“t find any hard discs. Back on command shell I can access all partions.
This harddisc worked before with an MK-2 SCSI controller. Hm, very strange...

If someone has this card too and got the scsi part running, please give me a hint.

@Fieldday

If I am not mistaken the GVP 4060 SCSI is limited to the Fast File System for partition size stored on the Kickstart Roms.

As such it is not NSD compliant, you will have to update your Kickstart ROM's for the new (patched) FFS (Fast File System) then you will not be limited to only being able to use 4GB for a boot and other partitions.

While the GVP 4060 can see drives larger than 4GB it will not load filesystems stored in the RDB, so PFS3 and SFS are ruled out.

have a read here for more info

Sorry to bump an older thread (no, I'm not really ).

I have the same issue and was wondering how I would go about getting an updated kickrom. Do I need custom roms or could I use some kind of soft kickroms?

Also, would that enable the use of SFS/PFS3 ?

You would need custom ROMs with an updated fastfilesystem that is compatible with the command set the GVP SCSI driver uses.

This will not allow you to use SFS/PFS3 at least for now, perhaps one day someone will make ROMable versions of them. Perhaps not.

Sorry, said scsi.device instead of fastfilesystem.. So naturally update the filesystem to something that supports your GVP's driver commands.
