Heating Problems A1200

Hey guys, I got my scandoubler working, but now I think there's way too much action going on inside the case. Is there a better way to mount the harddrive inside the case, the drive sled won't fit over the scandoubler now, so I think it's over heating after a few hours, not to mention I have a blizzard 1240 @ 40mhz in there too. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

I had to cut a big hole in the drive sled. I used a hacksaw and it was hard work. If you have access to a dremmel it may be easier, but the sled is like 3 or 4 mills thick which is no joke.

Once your drive sled has a big hole in it, mount a slim laptop HDD using riser screws. The laptop must be slim. You need riser screws because the scandoubler will poke through the hole in the sled.

The scandoubler gets HOT so make sure your HDD cable isn't laying on top of it. 7-10cm of cable should be enough to keep the cable away form the chips.

Lastly you need a small hole in the back of your case to let the VGA cable out.

I'll post pix of my set up in a couple of days.

Nice work DopPie. This is my (crude) effort. The drive is out at the moment. I use those riser screws to hold the drive above the scandoubler. The drive is held on by those two screws at the front end, and the cable (7cm) arches over the scandoubler.
I think I like your solution better.
