a1200 ide cable problems
lately ive been having alot of trouble trying to organise a bloody ide cable for this thing.
i want a cable that is 2.5 at one end so to fit the mobo and have TWO 3.5 plugs so to fit a hd and a cdrom. i did make one cable but used a LOW DENSITY ide cable becuase the stupid readme didnt specify and that ended up melting my only plug i could use on the a1200 mobo. so now i've got a high density ide cable having been told i need one and i also have a 2.5 -> 3.5 adaptor plug which fits onto the mobo. my dilemma is that the adaptor has all 40 pins while the high density ide plugs are the newer 39 pin (one square filled in). ive destroyed numerous ide cables and plugs on this project and i dont want to damage any more. what can i do. |

You can remove the pin from the adapter.

The plugs must be connected correctly at both ends. Pin 1 should be labelled in the interface and the drive. Pin 1 on the cable should have a red stripe on it. Make sure you match pin 1 to pin 1.
