That sounds very useful Olaf, much in the same way WHDLoad triggers scripts when it starts/stops?

As an aside, I could add a tooltype to Roadie to connect (aka invoke AddNetInterface) on startup. This way, when started from the WBStartup drawer it could bring up the interface at that point (as well as the dialogue box with the output). Aware this doesn't implement all you have suggested, but happy to add it to the next build if people would find it useful.

PS: Version 1.2 of Roadie should be on Aminet soon. Added ARexx support for going on/off line

yes I had installed miamidx, then I bought roadshow, it was not a problem to configure it even if it did not work the dhcp, I took the necessary information from the miami log file, the guide is quite simple are about three files to be modified in part, thank you Olaf

Along similar lines to the original post, I've got a plipbox (SANA-II, plipbox.device) that I currently run through MiamiDX. I assume Roadshow would work fine with this setup? Would I see any sort of improvement in throughput? Doesn't really matter if I don't as it's already fast enough for most things. Though the 200MB download I did last night was a bit painful at 20 minutes - we've got used to it all being too easy these days

Sorry, but Roadie 1.2 doesn't work for me at all. When double clicking the icon, nothing happens. Roadie 1.1 still works, but indeed has the bug of not opening when you want to run it again after you closed it.

I'll double check things at this end, does it give you any errors?

[edit] Do you have Rexxmast running?

From looking at the code, this is my fault! If you can let me know if starting Rexxmast fixes the non start issue (I suspect it will), I'll make things a bit more clever regarding ARexx for 1.3.

@indigolemon

Your Roadie app is really filling a gap in the Roadshow world. Congrats !

On my wishlist for next version, I have :
* make Roadie able to connect/disconnect from command-line (i.e. >Roadie connect)
* make Roadie able to be iconified
* have buttons for Configuration options

Doesn’t roadshow already support command line?
Sounds redundant to me.

Roadie 1.3 in the Aminet upload queue.
- Will now start and run without REXXMast running (but disables ARexx support) [good catch @spudje]
- Has an AUTOCONNECT tooltype - if set to YES, will try and connect as Roadie starts

I'm not looking at any command-line support, as McTrinsic said that can be done via Roadshow as it is, so don't see any point in duplicating what Olaf has already provided.

I can look into making it iconified, but as it's a commodity a simple keypress shows and hides the interface as needed.

I don't think I want to do this, at least not til I make the config editing part smarter! At the moment it assumes you know what you're doing when you edit these settings, and writes them to the files with no checks! This is why it's very much intentional that this feature is in a menu

Sorry, didn't have time to check the ARexx stuff. Great to see you already have another update out! Will try soon. Thanks for this great tool and all your work.

Update: works great now! Thanks! Curious what you have more in store for the app
