Ohhh, linking to IPF's is frowned upon here Sandro, check with a mod first.

Thanks, looks like you might be right. That would explain why none of the versions, none of the softkickers, and not even WHDLoad versions, will work.

Is there any way around that without removing @kipper2k's board every time? It's quite an ordeal as the ROM chip has to be taken in and out of the board each time, and placed out and in the motherboard instead.

I wonder if there's a way to patch the game...

Try booting from HD. Open the Sytem dir and click on NoFastMem. Insert the floppy and run the delphine program. If that works then you could try to run NoFastMem on bootup.

EDIT: looking at this adf, it already uses nofastmem, did you try this one?

Thanks as ever. When I boot that floppy it takes me to AmigaDOS prompt. I type "delphine" and it loads something, then as with all other versions, the A500 freezes completely with the floppy disk light on.

That's not right. Booting from floppy should execute the df0:s/startup-sequence.

Try typing nofastmem, then delphine.

If all else fails then I would suggest using TUDE or DEGRADER to try and boot this game.

Kipper2k recommends I need 1MB chipmem to fix this, which I do not have. What's a recommended addon for that?

I tried KS2.05 and KS3.1 in Winuae, no go. it needs 1.3 by the look of it, mabbe early startup, selecting OCS chipset may work.

When you say that, do you mean Disable CPU Caches after holding down both mouse buttons in KS 3.1? If not what do you mean?

Thanks anyway. When running WHDLoad versions 3.2 or 4.0, the splash screens appear on Workbench, then the screen goes blank and the machine crashes. This seems to happen around the same point that the floppies crash too, i.e. as soon as loading starts. I never see any part of the game or the game loader.

wow, pretty picky game, would not work in a ntsc a500, not work with any other kickstart than 1.3..

got it workling in an a500 with basic 512k ram Pal and rev6 (prob not important) whdload should work though as it kicks it down to 1.3?

is not so picky
it works perfect in the A1200 from floppies+ kick 3.0 + tra1200 turboboard
even there is no need to use relokick /no need to degrade de system or disable cpu caches

I just tested it

The official addon was a 1/2 meg upgrade that went in the trapdoor slot.

When I try to run that floppy from within Workbench 3.1, or after copying it to the HD (as it says you can), I get:

delphine
Program failed (error #80000021)
