i think it is still useless for the most people because there pc's (including mine) have only 1 diskdrive
and to be honest i don't really see the point for reading an amiga disk

reading amiga disks

I haven't tried it out but off the top of my head I'd say it'd be useful for transferring stuff from the amiga without using cross dos or network leads etc.

As for a second drive, they only cost about £10 here, so why wouldn't you get one unless you haven't got the bay space in your pc.

Question is, why would you need 2 drives when you are to create an ADF file?

Did anyone try this yet? because the only machine I have here with two drives is my IBM5140 portable XT, and I doubt the software would work on an XT :P

Works fine..

I managed to get hold of a second FDD and whacked it in and it works ok. Doesn't work under Win2K DOS window, but a dos boot disk or Win98 cmd prompt soon fixes that.

I can't believe it works, thought it was a hoax, but proved me wrong

Tried it..

Yes, I tried this. It works ok. I didn't have a enough space in the tower to put a floppy drive in the bay. I had to remove HD's etc. I didn't want to do all this. So, a second floppy-drive is just lying around in the tower with a blank disk constantly inserted. This is very usefull for my brother MrDig and his coverdisks!

Hunter might be one of those games that is dual-formatted for Amiga and Atari. Several games are like this (Starglider II, etc.)

Floppy disk Damocles data disk 2

I have a feeling this disk might have been dual formatted too. The second one hasn't appeared anywhere, I wonder if that's why.

Is there any way to convert these to an adf?

Yeah, Toni should respond to this. Because he says Amiga disks are emulated 100%, then that should include dual format as well. Toni?

I am already working on FDI support for UAE. I hope to finish it in 1-2 weeks. I will release source patch and probably it will be included with next WinUAE (If I finish it before next official release)
