Virocop mistake

http://hol.abime.net/1575

Quote:
Notes: Features the character, KLP2, from Graftgold's C64 game, QUAZATRON.
Quazatron was a ZX Spectrum game, based on C64s "Paradroid". It was not ported back to C64, but it had sequel called "Magnetron", which was released for both ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64.

KLP-2 appears in both Quazatron and Magnetron games.

Thx for pointing this out.
After looking online for more details and based on your posts (yes even :d is valuable input for HOL ), I believe the main idea behind the note is that Quazatron and Magnetron were both creations of Steve Turner who also coded Virocop.

Therefore I am tempted to change:
Quote:
Features the character, KLP2, from Graftgold's C64 game, QUAZATRON.
Quote:
Features the character, KLP-2, also featured in Graftgold's games, QUAZATRON (for ZX Spectrum) and MAGNETRON (for ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64).
QUAZATRON was originally developed as a port of PARADROID (for the Commodore 64), although it later included some differences such as the use of an isometric view.
Steve Turner, who developed QUAZATRON and MAGNETRON, is one of the three coders of VIROCOP.

Any suggestion/complaint/etc... welcomed.
If there are no complaints, I'll edit the entry with the above text.

(in fact Steve told that the character is not KLP-2, but is based on its design )

Got a specific source so that it can be traced in case someone asks about it?

If you have other things of interest, please mention them so that I can see if they are fit for the notes or not.

Here is my new suggestion:
Quote:
If you have played Graftgold's games, QUAZATRON (for ZX Spectrum) and MAGNETRON (for ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64), you may notice that the protagonist of VIROCOP bears a striking resemblance to the character KLP-2, found in QUAZATRON and MAGNETRON.
Steve Turner, who developed QUAZATRON and MAGNETRON, is one of the three coders of VIROCOP, which explains the similar design of both protagonists.
QUAZATRON was originally developed as a port of PARADROID (for the Commodore 64 and which would later remade on the Amiga as PARADROID 90), although it later included some differences such as the use of an isometric view.

Might be a bit long, but better have all the info. now before deciding or not to make a cut-down version.

Direct SteveĀ“s answer to that question about KLP-2 can be found in interview in upcoming Amiga Lore website, where I have read it today. That was my source. BTW the main character of Virocop is named D.A.V.E.
