Was I drunk when I posted this four years ago? There's no jumping in Rodland!

I didn't know that, and my post was still wrong as it was referring to the Amiga version.

As with a lot of arcade conversion, Rodlands to me just feels better on Amiga. It has a lot to do with how warm these games feel and maybe that's because of the Amiga's palette. New Zealand Story another great example of of that warmth but also the greater sense of life these conversions offered over Arcade. Amiga generates great atmosphere this way and it's why I'll always use this great machine

I'd say that this is pure nostalgia talking, to be honest. The Amiga conversion is GREAT, of course (I played it to death back in the day, that motherf***enkiwibastard) but the arcade original is still superior in all respects. Full screen graphics, larger levels (and more of them) etc.

Amiga Rodland reigns supreme, though. Pac-Mania is perhaps the most striking example of a game in which the Amiga version is (in this case FAR) superior to the arcade original. More forgiving gameplay and graphically way (way WAY) ahead of its arcade parent. Play it in Mame and you'll see what I mean.
