I downloaded each part of this collection and for me it's not a problem

But, just as an idea, what about adding an ALL IN ONE big download ?

I don't know if this should replace all the single parts or it could be simply added together with the single parts

Anyway, it could make things more easy for future people who want to download the collection

Get a Kryofloux USB FDD controller to dump disks in ADF images and writing back them.Otherwise use some programs on a real Amiga.

Do you have a Kryoflux ?

So, you can suggest it as the BEST solution to read / write ADFs ?

@chip: Have a reading here (Arduino Amiga Floppy Disk Reader (V1)), here (Arduino Amiga Floppy Disk Reader/Writer (V2)) and here (a thread in EAB).
Hope it helps in your search.

It surely helps, but it also make things more complicated

Indeed i know now that exist two hardware solutions: Kryoflux and Arduino

I guess personal experience from people around would be the best opinions i could have malko

My research is strictly tied to the fact i always thinked to buy real thing, but ALL depend on this possibility:
it's easy / difficult, cheap / expensive to read and write back floppies ?

So, until things are not exactly clear to me, i still use only emulation: more easy to do anything

Yes, I have a Kryoflux. For me it's the best solution to image old floppies in order to preserve them.It can write back only few formats though : ADF, G64 and STREAM RAW and IPF.

I don't know SimonV which is the best solution

I'm trying to make an idea of the situation

I learned of Kryoflux from other guys, so i guess it is something useful

But if an Amiga is enough, well, why not ?

Still not clear for me, whats your intention?
Supposing you purchase a Kryoflux and afterwards you write back ADFs to real Floppydisks, what to do next, you still need an Amiga to use this Disks!

Real Amiga can read and write Floppydisks, which are not physical protected!

Not directly, you must first convert .DMS images in a Kryoflux writable format.

P.S.
DMS is a compressed format.

I hope that whatever matches with TOSEC is used to mark more of TOSEC with a "!" to signal that it is a verified dump.

If you consider the fact that we needed the Kryoflux for let's say about 40 disks that had hardware protection out of 12.000 and all the others were done with a real Amiga ... well you have your answer I guess.

On the other hand if you have like 500 boxed original games like I do ... you might want to consider a kryoflux because most of those do have protection that can't be handled by software for making ADF files on the Amiga.

Yes, i know, the .raw files were created with Kryoflux

No, i don't have original games

So, your answer is perfectly clear .... thanks

Sorry to be pedantic, but since we are talking of Amiga disks read / write operations

I see that Diskripper was used for the reading task

What about the writing back to real floppies ?

I guess some other program should be used .... but what ?

There are plenty of Amiga programs for writing back ADF (and other formats too) images. What about a bit of Google search from you?

I prefer direct opinions from people who have experienced the programs

I'm here on the forum for this reason

You prefer all ready and now, this is the truth.Internet is full of people like you. Most of times I ignore their private messages (and they are a lot of them) here and on my site here:

http://www.jammarcade.net/author/caius/

A forum is not a customer care but a place where people can share info so other can document and research by themselves.
