I ordered Oct 2018 still no keyboard delivery.
@kipper2k do you know if the keycaps are made in China and that is the reason for delay, or is it still this slow soldering and testing of board process? Whatever the holdup reason is, it would be great with another company blogupdate about it now. |

Thanks man but that doesnt look like the correct piece, its just the little plastic piece that clips into the ribbon holder with the ribbon to keep it in place.

I’m still waiting on my A500 Keyboard. Pre-Ordered it in late November of 2018. Anybody else still waiting?

Mine finally shipped, praise be. October 22 2018 order, so either they randomly didn't like me much, or you're going to be waiting a while yet. Sorry.

For completeness sake I want to update that I recieved my keyboards, one white and one black a week ago. And as previously stated I ordered Oct 2018.
The inspection verdict so far is that it seems to be a great product. As a layman the keys and print seems just as good as Commodores or even better perhaps. The print of the letters seems better, although perhaps the keys are from a tad thinner plastic. The wobble of the keys seems on par with original Amiga keyboard. The black keys are not really black but more of a anthracite color. It doesnt bother me that much, as soon there isnt direct light on the "black" keys they do appear almost black. There seems to be a lot of features either available or for future versions, like controlling a kickstart switch and gotek. There is some sort of USB header and section for a PWM controller. I dont know at all about these features though. I havnt been able to test my keyboards yet but I hope AOL has done a lot of quality testing on these. There is some scratch mark on the bottom of my black keyboard PCB but I dont think the traces has been cut. But that is how it arrived. The white keyboard has no scratchmarks at all on the pcb underside. |

Still waiting. Order date is Jun 2019 for me. The last person who reported receiving theirs ordered in Oct 2018 so they are presumably still some months behind.

I think I speak for many of us when I say I would very much appreciate some kind of update on this. It's been over six months since AOTL's last blog post, and it seems they haven't even finished the October 2018 orders? I've tried emailing them, but haven't gotten a response.
Has anybody who ordered in November or later received their boards yet? I ordered in March 2019, so I know I'm a bit far back in the list, but I'd feel better if I knew the line was moving at all. |

Order placed on Nov 7th 2018
On Oct 30 I sent an email asking for an ETA, and on the 31st Oct I received an answer back that it would ship out the week of 11/8 - 11/14. So I have been checking the USPS tracking and it has stayed in Pre-Shipment (not received by them) I sent an email on Nov 27 to get an update but no reply and have sent another email now. At this point I'm not hopeful I will see it this christmas (it was originally listed as coming christmas 2018) |

I don't mean to make excuses for anyone - because this undeniably sucks for everyone - but since I'm toying with the idea of dipping a toe in custom keyboard waters I've been reading a bit about other projects. I'm getting the impression they almost never run to schedule, and even keycap group buys that are well-organised by people experienced in the field seem to have lead times of 9 months to a year.
Communication is key, of course, and even just a bulk email to everyone saying "Oops, we've bitten off more than we can chew - this is going to take us longer than anticipated but bear with us" would have gone a long way to appeasing angry buyers and giving people realistic expectations, rather than making repeated unrealistic promises. |

Couldn't agree more. When this thread was still in its early days, I was working on an A500 which I needed a keyboard for. I seriously toyed with the idea of investing money in to one of these new cherry keyboards. However I'm glad I didn't, there's no way I would have been happy waiting 2-3 years. I'm not sure what the order volume has been like. But custom projects can work out and meet reasonable deadlines. The Checkermate cases are a good example of a project organised well in my humble opinion.
