[Found: Wicked] you controlled this red devil flying into a moon with a face

and the moon had this scary face and i think if you lost the screen filled up with blood?

very strange game, can't seem to remember what it was called, bit of a long shot but that's all i can remember really. I've looked at lots of thumbnails. I think it was a demo I had. must of been before 1994.

Probably not those at all, but just in case your memories are getting mixed up:

There is a moon with a face that can turn angry in the MD version of Wiz 'n' Liz (no devil though).

There is also Demon's Crest on SNES, with a moon (but no scary face) and a flying red devil (protagonist).
