Cannot get Venus the Flytrap to work (WHDLoad)
I grabbed two versions of "Venus the Flytrap", one of which is marked as "no intro". It seems that I cannot get to work either of them on my A1200. The normal one just gives me a black screen while the music still plays in the background. The "no intro" just shows the attract mode, and if I click on the joystick, I get a black screen for a bit (while the music still plays) until it shows the attract mode again.

I think you need to insert credit coin with space or other key.

Push joystick up.
No picture, you have to press fire a few times and it should load first level. WHDLoad version does this too. Its a pain. |

Pressing Joy up for credits and then fire works perfectly fine for me. Just tried the WHDLoad version.

Aah ok, going to try that. Thing is, I just have a black screen, which doesn't help. It only shows me the game in 'attract mode'.

You are right. There is something wrong on real hardware. No problems in WinUAE though.
edit: Ok, i skipped the intro by pressing/hold down ESC, Joy up for credits and pressing a few times the fire button. Just like FOL said. Seems to work that way on my A1200. Stingray was working on a new slave iirc. Last edited by Retro-Nerd; 18 October 2014 at 23:31. |

Yup, worked now, thanks. I guess that is why there is a 'no intro' version. Venus is one of my favourite games =)

Didnt really worry though as I could get past it. If I recall it woked fine on my A600. |

And you have to press fire after you loose a life and the screen stays black, because the "Get ready" screen isn't shown. Really time for a completely new slave.

These are copperlist bugs, I've been working on a completely new patch for quite some time already but the last remaining bits to do require a lot of motivation from my side which isn't always there. I'll hopefully finish it off this winter.
