Floppy disk Biing! and all the different Versions (Confusing Patch numbers)

Hi there.

It´s been a while since i played this crazy fun(ny) Game
https://amiga.abime.net/games/view/b...-und-skalpelle
but was so confused on how many different versions there are

Version 1.0 from the Floppy Version
Version 1.2 from Aminet
Version 1.3 from the "Bulletin Board" / Scene ?
Version 1.4 from the Original CD Release
Version 1.4 from Aminet
Version 1.4 from the Biing! Fansite
https://biing-fansite.de/download.php?list.8

and the three versions of 1.4 are all different

I compared them in HEX and 1.4 from CD is "almost" the same
as the 1.4 version from the Fansite. (2 differences in HEX)

But the 1.4 from Aminet is wayyy different then the other 1.4 versions.

Now i am pretty confused

Besides, I cant see any difference in the game except for the Aminet Version that stucks on a Black Screen right before the fun begins ....

What is going on here ?
Does anybody have a clue about this and what is the right/latest version ?

Greetings and thanks for any Info about this different versions Mess

Torti

PS: I made a package and put them into the zone for you to download

The file "Bipro-Aminet1.4" is an LHA file. Rename it with a .lha extension and then extract it with LHA. The resulting file "Bipro1.4" is then identical to "Bipro-Fansite-1.4"

The two versions of 1.4 only differ by two bytes.

Yes, that´s right the Aminet File is an LHA even after the first extraxction. Odd.

Another strange thing is that when launching the Bipro itself, instead of the B File; they dont match up with there version Numbers.
What a Mess

I guess i use the 1.4 that came with the Original CD but damn it is hard to get over the first day.

This is one of the hardes Business Sims i have ever played. .

Is it also true that the game crash after 42 days ?
( that PC version does ....)

That would suck

I never got this far even back in the days ....
Hmmm, i thinking of editing (Cheat) the savefile/ or the main BiPro
so i have tons of money and i could test this "crash after day 42 thing".

Anyway, this games "update numbers" are a mess and i have no clue what change with every different version;
What an odd but fun game
(but hard as nails.....)

Once you know what treatment apply to patient's complains the game becomes easy.
It just takes time (hit and miss, piece of paper and many 1st days in the game ) to make a mach between these treatments and diseases.
I was plying that game knowing nothing about german language ... and somehow I had a progress.

If you have enough RAM than it is better to copy the whole game there as it runs much faster.
If you have a kingCon running then disable it - on my computer game was stuck because of "shield" con window the game opens on top of whole WB screen - without kongcon all was running fine.

I did get pretty far back in the days; when i played alot of those Business Sims,
but man; i tried the first day at least 10 times already with no sucess so far

The game itself runs great. My Amiga has 32MB Ram

I activated all the options in the Biing Config and with those settings,
all of the graphics are stored into Ram

I even made a custom script, that activates after double clicking the Biing Icon.

Then the Amiga resets and the game switsches into the DblPal Screenmode and automatically loads the game. Completly seamless

After exiting the game it resets and loads the WB again

Pretty Nifty.

Mmmm; i even bought Biing on GOG! because it comes with super ...aehm.. cheesy Video sequences AND it includes Biing! 2 which i never played before

But even part 2 seem tuff as nails.

A friend of mine, who adored business Sims;
(works today in the finance sector)

said once, that Biing! was his favorite because of its "tuffness".
(on top of the beautyful Celâl Kandemiro?lu Artworks and all the funny stuff that is going on in this game)

Love that game but man.... it is HARD (at least for me nowadays)

Hmmm, thinking of giving "Wet - The Sexy Empire" another go after this ....
It´s been ages since i played this

Neat stuff
