I have to ask, this Breathless that keeps getting bandied about, but also banded off often, how good is it?
I think it was supposed to be the Amiga's first 3D game, right? A competitor to Doom, yes? |

Lots of once Amiga-exclusive games have been ported to many platforms, because they were succesful, so I think this thread can only be filled with second-class games like Allo Allo.
A bunch of exceptions off the top of my head: - Uridium 2 - Mr. Nutz (there are snes and genesis games with the same characterand name but absolutely different game) - Ruff n Tumble - Virocop - Roadkill - Brian the Lion - Benefactor Can;'t think of anything else for now! Ambermoon, Hybris, Apidya etc. are second class games? I don't think so.

I said MOST TITLES got ported to other platforms exactly for being succesful and good, so games that were not ported anywhere else and are any good, are few and far between.

I can't remember that the 'exclusive' title thingy was important back in the 80's or 90's, so maybe it's really a bit pointless to search for those games. Like Akira and Damien said the Amiga original status is far more interesting

Exactly Guess that's the point why we still remember and play Amiga games today
Maybe Damien can change the thread title and we show Predabot the real gems |

Hmm, maybe..! But it is kind of cool to have a thread dedicated to just the special gems which you have no opportunity to find on any other system.
I guess Amiga is different in that regard, than other Game-platforms. For instance, a platform like PS3 is wholly driven by its unique content, in order for it to make a break-trough, which is why it had a LOT of problems early on. All the good games where already out for Xbox360 and PC. Or Wii, if you wanted some wholly unique, but less than cutting-edge games. ( This is why I own a PC and a Wii, gives me everything cool in this modern age) But yeah, now that I think about it, an Amiga Original thread would probably be cool, but I think it should also be filled with a little bit of open debate, since some titles received improvements on other platforms. |

I think the thread title is fair. As explained by Predabot, today, game exclusivity is a *key* player in a system's success.
Remember this started to happen when consoles appeared. Mario exclusive to Nintendo Sonic exclusive to Sega. these machines had "killer games" released for it, with exclusivity, and this made people buy machines, just to play that game not available anywhere. If Commodore would have seen this, and would have funded some money in getting exclusivity of certain titles for the Amiga (like Sensible Soccer or other Amiga best-sellers), I figure they would have done a lot better. As it was, a lot of the Amiga "killer games" were later ported to genesis, SNES, etc., usually with improvements and bugfixes, rendering the Amiga "useless". |

I'm sure we've had a thread(s) discussing Amiga originals before but for the life of me I can't find it.
Anyway a thread on exclusive Amiga games is interesting in itself I think. |

This thread has its value for sure. I just wanted to say that there was no emphasis on it in the Amiga days (or for the Amiga). So many really great games were later ported to another system, but have the 'roots' on the Amiga Anyway, let's try to find some more good Amiga 'exclusives'

I figured I'd ressurrect this old thread, with a small list of some of the titles mentioned as good Amiga -exclusives. =)
From what I gathered from this thread, back in the day, I would say this appears to be more or less a complete list, well, at least for the purpose of this thread, which is the GOOD games, that everybody should give a go. Bad games need not bother. Now... for the hardest part of all... using HoL Lemon Amiga, and other rankings, to filter out the top games, getting rid of the also-rans from the list! We need a top 10, or at the least, a top 15. Last edited by Predabot; 23 June 2014 at 22:24. |

I've compiled the list of the top 20! :-D
I was originally going to make it a top 10 and then top 15, but then I saw that Shadow of the Beast had a rather low score, so I had to go and make it a top 20, just to get that golden, GOLDEN nugget in there. ^ I was quite surprised at the no. 1 - so Wings is actually a more loved game than Worms: Directors Cut...? Really?! Most puzzling. 1. Wings 8,75 2. Worms: The Director's Cut 8,65 3. Ruff N Tumble 8,65 4. Ambermoon 8,59 5. Banshee 8,53 6. Benefactor 8,48 7. Lionheart 8,44 8. Napalm 8,41 9. Wasted Dreams 8,41 10. Genetic Species 8,39 11. Perihelion 8,38 12. Arabian Nights CD32 8,33 13. Twintris 8,33 14. F/A18 Interceptor 8,32 15. K240 8,32 16. Apidya 8,3 17. Hybris 8,28 18. Shadow Of The Beast 3 8,11 19. Road Kill 8,11 Last edited by Predabot; 03 July 2014 at 00:16. |

Deluxe Galaga isn't Amiga-only, it was ported to Windows. Citadel of Vras, Walker, Mindwalker are missing from the list.

Cheers for the correction, mate. I removed galaga from the list. Will check out the 3 you mentioned, if they can replace it.
( they gotta' have a Lemon Amiga -score higher than 8.) |

Wings is a brilliant game and I'd certainly place it higher than the (personally) over rated Worms Directors Cut.
Problem is Wings was ported to Game Boy Advance. Does that invalidate it? |

I've put together a list of the better known exclusive Amiga games. The list is far from complete and misses out more obscure one-off Amiga games, unreleased titles and PD/shareware games. Let me know if I've missed something obvious!
