RGB Scart on A1200 totally black - Page 2

Thats the same problematic A1200, on a newly acquired 1084S-D2 with a DB23<->DB9 rgb cable. Connect it via the same port via Scart to seemingly any TV (every single one I've tried) and you get the symptoms I described earlier. The A500 with the same Scart cable(s) works 100% of the time on the same TV's.

Does the Amiga RGB<->DB9 cable transmit horizontal and vertical sync signals rather than composite sync that the Scart cable does? That's about the only thing I can think of that could be different.

Nope. They are identical. It has to be an incorrectly wired SCART cable. There must be a voltage difference on at least one pin between A500 and A1200. Perhaps it uses +12v from a pin which is unconnected on A1200?

I'd check the voltage between SCART pin 16 and a ground when plugged into A500 and then compare it when plugged into A1200.

Have you tried pluggin in the SCART cable after the A1200 has booted?

I still think its a missing switching voltage. Most likely your Amiga 1200 doesn't output 12V and/or 5v on the RGB port anymore.

Sync should be fine as you can "see" some ghostly outlines. Also, if the sync was to blame, the TVs should display whatever you see when theres no signal present.
