Ok, you're right this is the first screen on the right, but you didn't notice the corrupt head running from left-right that appears 2-3 secs before the other guard you've shot (and from right to left).

Very strange there's a corrupted big sprite running from left to right immediately after you enter the first screen on the right. It's fast, and is just a '4 vertical lines' sprite instead of the complete thing. Please take shots right after you enter the screen...
Sadly I'm on real Amiga and can't grab myself to show you the problem

HighSeasTrader AGA gfx bug

Here is HighSeasTrader AGA gfx bug instead.
This gfx block on the right stays "locked", it should be animated just like the other wave blocks. You can see its vertical margin if you look deeper.

You mean the two coloured dots above the bad guy's head?

They have always been there and they blink. I think they are supposed to represent some sort of switch / button (that you can't touch though)

It's not a graphics bug IMHO...

Thanks a lot for your excellent animgif!
Here is it! How do you call that trashed vertical bars traversing the screen from left to right at the bottom of screen. It's a gfx corruption. IMO it has to be a guardian's head in foreground but is trashed!
Another bug CONFIRMED as you can see...

Hmmm, just checked the disk versions and it's there also...

I thought that the 4 vertical bars are some sort of fence

I'll check the SNES verison tonight when I get home

Yes, this should be a kind of fence. Here is the gif from the Atari ST version.

A fence...??
I'm sure if the gfx artist would have done a fence, it would have been drawn much better than this, not so ugly and monochromatic. Following the spirit of the game I'm almost sure it should have been an alarmed guard's head runnig... just think about it. Moreover it moves by itself from left to right, it's not a perspective view change of a fence in foreground. Look at it carefully. It's a nonsense as a fence.
About the ST version... well, the Amiga version was the very first coded. Maybe they didn't notice and or forgot that gfx problem in the port ->ST. C'mon, can't be a fance that, pal!
The problem now is: exists a correct version somewhere?
Let me know about the console version, or even for PC...

There is no bug at all, it's simply the first layer on screen, just like the
guy's head on the right, you have a fence on the left and the right.

Maybe we should ask Eric chahi to post here ? he'll tell us ^^.

That a fence? Naah... I've asked to Chahi himself as Retro-Nerd suggested (I didn't link this site in the mail). Let's see now

Yes, it's actually very strange a gfx bug in ALL versions so I maybe wrong but that's not a mini, ugly-drawn and sensless alive fence moving from left to right for me, c'mon!

Hope you won't tell me then that the colored stripe under IK+'s alternative shield is a feature!

BTW, have you seen also the gfx problem in HighSeasTrader AGA?

no, i didn't take a look à highsea trader AGA, but yes on IK+ it's a graphic bug,

i agree on this one ^^.

I hope Eric chahi won't too hurted by "What the fook, did you drawn that sort-of-a-fence??"

We'll then all have to tell him "gomen sensei, gomen" lool

I hope Eric doesn't take afence

Seriously though, why the big deal? It's a great game no matter how many little glitches you can find.

Never said the contrary. AW remains a masterpiece (why not an Hollywood film?)!
...Don't know, maybe I dream that Chahi will send me an exclusive never released fixed version of the game for the first time? Eh eh
It was just to point out that sometimes even originals have bugs and file corruption... the story behind oldskool videogames always fascinated me. Now I wonder if at some point the original disks got corrupted in Chahi's garage
