Quadrix - It must be broken?

There are two available versions in TOSEC:

Quadrix (1991)(Soft Enterprises)[cr IP].adf
Quadrix (1991)(Soft Enterprises)[cr IP][t +5 ATX].adf

The problem is that game takes you to the highscore table after you have completed level 5. Game has a password system and a level editor, which is a reason to think this is a broken game.

Can some talented EAB member take a look at this? I tried to search for level codes to see if there are more levels, with no luck

Never tried the Gamebase version because I found this text file in the directory (quadrix.txt): Either This Game Is A Preview, Or It Is Very Short!

So guess that is the same version as the one in TOSEC. Will try the compilation disk tomorrow. Thanks.

The one on the compilation disk is not the same game. This is a demo version of a Shareware game created by some other guy.

Hi hipoonios, only five levels in this (maybe this is only a crack of the preview).
Maps is not fixed but bonded with password, so you can easily edit it.

By the looks, the level editor is starting from the level 5, with empty levels to 10.
So i guess, it is meant to be.

If you edit levels 5+ and save them, then i guess the game will be playable (i haven't tried it), but the logic would tell me so.

So it is a preview after all...

I found some level codes HERE (see cheats and tips). But none of these are recognized by the TOSEC version. So guess these only works in the full game, which seems impossible to find.

Anyway, thanks for taking a look

yeah, iv edited and saved levels 5+6,
but it the game is still jumping to the hiscore screen after the original 5th level.

so it must be preview version, with the hope of Full release somewhere, maybe from the Programmer ?

Just found Cube-X.

This game is developed by the same team who created Quadrix. Both games seems to share the same code and music. So can it be that Quadrix was the preview title?

Cube-X has 150 levels. So better play that

Guess none of the games were released. But Cube-X feels more like a complete game.

edit: still not convinced if there also exists an more complete version of Quadrix. Since there are level codes on that site.
