Arrow AmiKit 1.1.0 in TrueType suite now!

AmiKit 1.1.0 in TrueType suite now!

AmiKit, the high-end classic Amiga enviroment for WinUAE, now supports antialiased TrueType fonts! Other features involve faster icon loading, better color remapping, lot of new or updated software, etc. etc. Download the latest update from http://amikit.amiga.sk

NOTE: Make sure your AmiKit is already updated to 1.04 before you install the 1.1.0 update. To verify the installation please check the AmiKit:Expansion drawer for log files.

IMPORTANT: If you already installed AfA_OS into your AmiKit, please remove it completely (especially from startup-sequence or user-startup) before you install 1.1.0 update!

For more information please visit http://amikit.amiga.sk . I'd like to thank to all people who donated and supported the development!

There's a bug in latest AmiKit 1.1.0 update package that prevents AWeb from working correctly if truetype fonts are enabled. Fortunatelly, not all systems are affected. For more information please read this. I apologize for the inconvience.

Happy OS39-BB2 unofficial patches

For those who are interested in AmigaOS3.9 patches included in AmiKit:

I've uploaded all of the patches to amikit yahoo group. They are stored in single LhA archive and thus easy to unpack on "real" Amiga...

- Amigaguide.datatype 45.6
- Console.device 44.10
- FastFileSystem 45.14
- Icon.library 45.4
- MultiView 45.10
- RAM-Handler 44.23
- Rexxsyslib.library 44.2
- Shell 45.12
- Workbench.library 45.131

To access the archive you have to subscribe to the amikit yahoo group by sending an (empty) email to amikit-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Makes it easier to upgrade the rest of my Amiga's so I don't have to mess with the spatch thingie

Amikit works great here. No problems so far, but I hate the annoying "demo version delay" in Dir opus each time I start it.

Well, the archive contains the patch files only, no automatic installer is included...

but it's quite easy to use spatch, for example:

spatch -oRAM:OUTPUTFILE -pRAM:PATCHFILE RAM:OLDFILE

yep, I know what you mean... read AmiKit tips&trick page how to make the RUN button be pressed automatically or wait for GuruMeditation, once they release the product you will be able to buy a serial number... http://gurumeditation.se/product_inf...60&language=en

Yep, but it's easier to replace the files instead instead of using shell to make the patches...I'm poor at typing fast

I agree but full files cannot be included because AmigaOS is copyrighted, you know.

Installation of patches on "real" Amiga:

First, make sure your AmigaOS3.9 was updated by BoingBags 1 and 2.
Then use "spatch" to patch the system files with the .pch files found in archive.

To patch the Shell use these commands:
ExtractModule FROM "DEVS:AmigaOS ROM Update" Module 19 TO T:Shell-Seg
spatch -oT:Shell-Seg.new -pRAM:ShellUpdate/Shell.pch T:Shell-Seg
Copy T:Shell-Seg.new to L:Shell-Seg

To patch the RAM-Handler use these commands:
ExtractModule FROM "DEVS:AmigaOS ROM Update" Module 17 TO T:Ram-Handler
spatch -oT:Ram-Handler.new -pRAM:PatchRAM/Ram-Handler.pch T:Ram-Handler
Copy T:Ram-Handler to L:Ram-Handler

To patch the console.device use these commands:
ExtractModule FROM "DEVS:AmigaOS ROM Update" Module 18 TO SYS:Devs/console.device
Rename SYS:Devs/console.device SYS:Devs/console.device.bak
spatch -oSYS:Devs/console.device -pConsole/console.pch SYS:Devs/console.device.bak

Then download LoadModule from Aminet and use it in your startup-sequence as a first command like this:

C:LoadModule L:Ram-Handler L:Shell-Seg LIBS:icon.library LIBS:workbench.library DEVS:console.device REVERSE NOREBOOT

and then modify your SetPatch line so it will look like this:

SetPatch SKIPROMMODULES ram-handler,shell,console.device,scsi.device QUIET

installation of AmiKit using the AmigaForever CD

Providing that you're talking about AmigaForever2005 CD, the installation of AmiKit is easy. Just download AmiKit_setup executable (about 97MB) and install it. When you run AmiKit for the first time, it asks you for the source of AmigaOS. Simply press the "AF2005 CD" button and insert your AmigaForever CD and follow the instructions of AmiKit.

Instructing videos (archives handling)

I've created some instructing videos demonstrating how easy is the archive handling in AmiKit environment. You can find them here.

More videos coming soon...
