That's because I would like the install the files by hand.

While the setup program is a self-extractable file and can be extracted with any version of 7z (yes I know it), the double compression on the data makes the installation a very slow process on my i3 1.70 GHz, mainly when we need to install only one or two files from the archive to the HD.
So have compressed / split the main files into 512MB archives and am uploading... going to take a while, so far 6 of the 18 parts has completed.

Regarding the double compression, with the initial split downloads you extract this into say "C:\Temp" and can then delete afterwards; which leaves you with:
  • Setup.exe
  • WinUAE.ini
  • WinUAE.lnk
  • WinUAE.part1.exe
  • WinUAE.part2.exe
  • WinUAE.part3.exe
  • WinUAE.reg
You don't have to run the "Setup.exe" file if you don't want to but it is advised as everything is automated...

You could just right-click on "WinUAE.part1.exe", select "Open with WinRAR" and extract to whenever you like.

Of course you'd still need to run the "WinUAE.reg" and also create your own desktop shortcut though.

Phew, all uploaded

...took roughly 24 hours to complete.

So if anyone believes that they may have messed up some of the process, PM me for a complete / applied "Base" + "Update Packs 1 - 10" download URLs

Id like to add my experience or lack of experience using emulators

I was lucky enough to get Damien's collection and Id like to thank him for the opportunity

Never having used emulators and not having any experience I was up and running playing games with minimum fuss in no time at all.

Even for me a novice using an emulator I was playing lots of games and titles from the days gone by.

Yes I have a few Amiga's I have WHD load and a Furia accelerator in my 600 but this was a new experience and I was delighted to have tried this out.

Yes I'm am still learning and have lots of that to do but first hand novice experience this was super easy and the installation set up took care of most or all of the work.

Thanks Once again Damien , Its a pleasure to have your extensive library of Amiga software

... Phalanx II - The Return
... The Incredible Adventures of Moebius Goatlizard DX

3 new game additions:

Code:
Climby Skies [unreleased] [demo]
Cougar Force
Love Dungeon
Anyway, it's uploading as I type this and PMs will be sent out afterwards
Grrrrr

...for some reason, I thought that I should double check the archive for this tonight and noticed:
a) I'd informed you to delete the directory "C:\WinUAE\Games\Phalanx II - The Return".
b) Yet didn't replace with the new directory in the pack.
Sorry guys, you will need to extract the attached into "C:\WinUAE" to fix.

Anyway, saying all that, I think I may update the main upload to include:

a) all base archives.
b) all 10 x update packs.

Makes sense since we are on Update Pack #10...

Thing is; it's about 9GB compressed so will take some time to re-upload.
This would be a brilliant idea DamionD, I have carefully followed every post to try and do each individual fix which I think is all correct, everytime I apply the fixes I Rar the whole collection up as a back up ;-)

Spent the last few days testing DamienD's latest uploads. All good so far, it's excellent to have the whole thing in one package.

Damned big package though

Many many thanks DamienD. This is quite possibly the best Amiga games pack available. Think I prefer this method over something like Gamebase.

Thanks for the kind words enigma776

...funnily enough I had a similar PM from dax today:

To be fair though; my friend Belgarath has worked extremely hard on GameBase Amiga for over a decade as well and it's way more complex / feature rich than my collection.

...but this is also possibly it's downfall going forward as no one is still working on this; it's just too difficult for normal users to add in new games, understand the structure / formatting / syntax etc.
