I have quite a few coverdisks. Mostly AF, AC and AUI. Not sure what full games I have, but I'm fairly sure I have Trolls.

Are the SPS team accepting coverdisks? I take it they are, but there is no info on the SPS website I could find. If so, do I just use the SPS dumping tool and email them off?
I am ready to dump my meager collection, tho I think it may be rather common. I don't mind doing unnecessary dumps and SPS can discard them if they like. Also, there is no mention of CDs. Any specific program we should use, e.g. similar to EAC for audio? And do I need a non-Amiga Technologies floppy drive (no mention on the SPS website I could find apart from real amiga HD drives needed for HD floppies) |

Today I got the following response from SPS:
"thanks for contacting SPS we'd be interesting in disk based commercial games only, they can be from many systems as well as Amiga, such as atari ST, PC DOS etc. in order to see what we need, please refer to the games list at http://www.softpres.org/games if you have any titles which are *not* on there, then please list them." So this means, they are not interested in anything other than commercial games? This is contrary to what IFW wrote above. No mention of alternate versions of the same game to my question either. I will back up my other stuff to ADF format anyhow. |

I am pretty sure we are interested, however focus is indeed on games whenever possible.

SPS gets a lot of mail from (mostly well-willed) people who dont read the website at all and simply want to offload stuff or dump disks to get copies of their games. and quite frankly everyones time is very limited. this thing about coverdisks they have only been mentioned here, and no-one has yet to dump any to my knowledge. this little movement here to get it done is about the only one. as IFW requested, if you would like assistence with the dumping process and would like to dump your coverdisks, then please do contact again. at least now we know who you are. @Interceptor
Sorry, I know you guys are very busy, I just needed clarity on what could be accepted - which I now have. I will correspond via the SPS forms with my list in all areas and you can select if anything of interest from my meagre collection. Hopefully there will be something there worth the time. Thanks! |
