cdrom access time winuae 2.3 !

i found something strange i found very slow access to cdrom image and real cdrom with winuae 2.3 (big delay to launch cdda, by exemple), it was good with winuae 2.3beta10.
it's with windows xp (that's why i had a so strange syncro with liberation cd32). I'll give you more informations later : which version is the last good etc... If someone could look if he has the same problem with winuae 2.3 quickstart cd32 ???

About 2s delay is _supposed_ to happen when starting CDA. It is normal. Real CD32 CDA startup is slow. It was totally random and wrong in old versions.

ok but the cdrom has ingame syncronized speed in earlier versions and now, no more
try to launch tie break cdtv, the cdda become even crazy, because :
before winuae 2.3 it told the score by exemple 40/15 it tells it well and with 2.3 it just tell "ty" and things like that, some games doesn't seem like the cdda delay ???? Perhaps cdda is now accurate but others things are not then ???
you need to know the crc ? or things like that ?
I hope you have cdtv tiebreak for testing, i think there is just one verion of tiebreak.

I understand you try to have all accurate but something goes wrong here. And not just with tiebreak and liberation, every games have a too long delay.

Perhaps there are problems but "works for me" requires much much more information (and do not jump to conclusions or guess anything)

- do you have confirmed CDs? (not some CD-R versions created from mp3 images, for example) if not: The end.
- do you get exactly same behavior if you use built in image mounter (but you must first confirm image and CD are 100% identical. Do not assume anything)

Test using at least 2 different games.

how can i be sure that cdrom are 100 % identical ? for tie break, i don't have the original, i use the iso distributed by pleasuredrome in the pack "TOSEC ISO - Commodore Amiga CD32 and CDTV (2010-02-20)"
Is It possible that mycomputer react differently than your with winuae 2.3 iso access time ?
For liberation i use an iso from there too, it's always iso + wavs with cue.
i detected long delays to access cdda with games like super street fighter 2 cd32 or Fightin' Spirit but i think perhaps it was the normal delay even if i found it long.
if it's just my computer that's not too important, i'll use winuae 2.0.2 beta10 with daemon tools, it works well for me.
edited the winuae 2.1.0 beta 25 works well too with your new system for mounting iso.

Some CD discs are really weird. They have weird pre-gaps. (yes, even my originals) I have tested the complete http://www.redump.org set and none seem to have problems. I can't comment for Tie-Break, since no one has dumped it. Don't know why you still use Daemon Tools, it's not needed for WinUAE.

Yes (and I said that already). Get confirmed CD and image (or original CD) and we can discuss about this again..

If you grabbed the ISO from a TOSEC set it *should* be accurate enough (they're ripped carefully from original CDs with no transcoding whatsoever in between).

errr what about bad discs/burning speeds? It opens a whole can of worms.

Hell you can even factor in a bad download.

Well sorryyyyy, but I was trying to inform turrican3 that using a TOSEC image is nothing like using a dodgy mp3-ridden rip from some dark corner of the web!

Utter nonsense. Even in TOSEC, you have everything from VERY good, down to VERY bad ones in umpteen tiny steps.

If (and ONLY if) you see an image tagged [!], well, in this case you may (almost) safely assume it's 100%. In a great part of other ones, you simply may NOT go the convenient "judge a book by its cover" way.

Actually most of the CDTV images have the [!] tag, but of course not all and thus a check is always a good starting point

hi Toni, could you just please add a command line to disablethe delay you add ? Please Toni . I understand you choose that for the accuracy but i don't like that exemple i arrive to a menu now and i have no time to hear the music that the game is launched ... If it's possible like this everybody will happy. And me for sure .
edited: you did well more than 2mb of chip and this is not accurate at all

Only if it is wrong compared to real CD32. Which games? Get a real CD32 for testing

ChipRAM requires setting because real Amiga can have 256k, 512k, 1M, 1.5M and 2M chip ram. It is simple to add more options to _existing_ configuration option.

_New_ configuration options are not added just because it can be added.
