Good morning Amiga fans!

Just noticed this hello area, and I better just say hi!

I am bit of gaming nut approaching my 30s, so I grew up with the Amiga after the ZX Spectrum as a starter. I had a trusty A500+ which I still have in a bag in the loft. Recently I have got bored of the Xbox 360 and wanted to go "Back to the Future"; for some classics like Cannon Fodder, Sensi, Legends of Valour, Lemmings and Dreamweb. I have a good collection of old computers/consoles and among them a slightly broken A1200 and a tasty no-yellow A600.

So I am now setting up my A600 with a IDE CF for Whdload goodness. Whilst waiting for my adaptor I have been playing on the PC WinUAE but its not the same! So I can't wait to get this A600 running on my LCD TV in the lounge.

Anyway great forum here love the fact that old scene members are here, and I hope to become a regular over time. I have stacks of magazines from 1991-95, cover disks, Amiga Format subscribers disks and games that may or may not be rare so will be good to see if I can help out.

Anyone else here love Zipstick joysticks? I was so pleased to see that I had two still in the loft.

Welcome You seem to have taken a similar route to me... Speccy, Amiga etc and you're probably not far from me either

Oh yes, they were always my preference over Competition Pro - but this topic has been debated here before once or twice

Thanks Merlin, much appreciated.

I moved to Norfolk with my now wife from these here parts who I met at Uni, I am from the North West originally. However I do like Norfolk and after 7 years here might be classed as a local!

Maybe you want to try to 'resurrect' the A1200 aswell? I'm sure some guys here would love to see it 'naked'
Anyway enjoy your stay

What a friendly board!

My A1200 has cold boot issues probably the CAPS, and I don't have any solder skills (although I do have an soldering iron!). I could probably burn holes in the board but that is not useful!

So I have advertised for another stock A1200 and will make a good one out of two! Actually I have already used the HD caddy and disk drive in the A600!

Also A600 will fit better in the TV cabinet though

lol my name is a play on my surname and PepsiMax, don't ask why its just how it happened.

But feel free to call me Max, most people do on Xbox Live

I will defend the A600, yes it was probably a disasterous hardware launch by CBM, but its got retro-chic about it now

Trying to get a replacement A1200 as we speak.

I'm only kidding anyway, the A600 is fine by me

Just don't let me near one with an axe.

You were the one who chopped all numpad keys from the A600 computers?

Welcome on EAB, Max.

I actually own an A600

Although it's in a really bad state, and the top casing is held on with superglue
