unreal

i just tried the game "Unreal" with the latest beta and the sound on titelscreen plays totally broken and choppy. also ingame there's an annoying noise all the time.

hmm..seems to happen on latest official build (1.6.1) as well. i guess its a known bug then.

'Works fine here'. Also not beta related.

I guess usual "too slow PC"/wrong configuration issue.

Make sure quickstart A500 selected, run in windowed mode and check that CPU% stays under 100% and SND% stays somewhere between -20% to %20.

nah, i use the preconfigured a500 config with best compatibility.
i used the quartex release now and this one is fine. seems to be a problem of the razor1911 release.

The Razor1911 release is the NTSC version, hence why the sound is not working properly, its expecting a 60hz refresh rate to time the music properly

aaah...that makes sense

so maybe it would be useful to have a feature in winuae that shows whether a programm is pal or ntsc.

just tested the razor release with ntsc and yeeah. music plays fine now...

As you've probably figured out, Quartex crack is PAL release

No, invariably whoever cracked it will make a point of saying in the cracktro if its the NTSC version, as they wouldn't want their crack removed from BBS's for being a duplicate release.

Most of the Bitmap Brothers games had NTSC releases, and i'm pretty sure most Psygnosis games were programmed with NTSC in mind as well.
