Blizzard PPC 060
Hi.
Will a Blizzard PPC card fit in a standard A1200 chassi? I know about the heat problem, i just wanna know if it will fit. |

It will fit, as its designed to...
although its life expectancy wont be all that good if theres no active cooling - those PPC's get VERY HOT - VERY QUICKLY! |

I have mounted two Laptop cpu fans aiming at my Blizzard 1260 today. And it acctually made a huge different, even if the CPU is on the other side.

um, '060 shouldn't get so hot, compared to '040. so maybe you'd need fan only on ppc and put just heatsink on 060. unless its 'bad' version of '060.
problem with it is, iirc, the original fan blows in opposite direction of new ones. assuming you mounted them on huge ppc heatsink. also might be a good idea to replace two small fans with one bigger, if possible. bigger fans are quieter, more efficient, have longer lifetime, produce less vibrations (which are bad for that bga ppc chip). |
