Second Samurai, graphical glitches?

I'm selling my copy of Second Samurai right here. I'll post it shortly.
So, I tested the discs on my Commodore 1200. The game loaded fine but the title screen and in-game the player sprite and enemies are displaying graphical glitches.

So, I tested Second Samurai via whdload in case it was an L.C.D telly issue. It was not. My copy makes no mention of aga compatability. Could it be an aga issue?
Or are my disks just corrupted? I doubt it was corruption because the glitches were very specific and I loaded the game twice in case of a bad load.

Has anyone experienced something like this before? Whdload page makes no mention of this problem.

I'll have to sell as corrupted discs otherwise.

There were two versions of Second Samurai, one ECS and the other AGA and as far as i recall, they did nothing with the ECS version to ensure it worked on AGA for obvious reasons.

When game has loaded, it should say on credits screen if its AGA version or not.

No, that is not true !!!
If anything it should be written on the Disks itself.

The Main Titlescreen is exactly the same in both versions.
( no mention of AGA or someting like that )

BUT you could try to go to the "early startup screen"
( hold both mouse buttons when start/reseting the amiga )
and set the graphics setting to OCS or ECS... try that.

OR just look what version do you have ( if not written on the discs )

THIS IS THE STANDARD VERSION
( look at the background of the first level )

and THIS IS THE AGA VERSION ( once again.. look at the background )

It's the non aga version. On the box it says: 1 meg ram required.A500, A500+ A600, A1500 and A2000 only.

Could be an issue running it on my a1200 then?

Yes, especially if it says "ONLY" ( Thanks to the programmes )

There are "ways" to make them run on AGA machines, but you want to sell it anyways.

Now you know what version you have, and you know what you are selling.

That is good for you and for the buyer.

Greetings, Nibbler

Yup. The disks might be ok then and not corrupted.

Maddening to have a game released a year after the A1200 that didn't work on it - instead releasing an A1200 version later. What if you bought the game then bought an A1200 a month later, did they even replace it for free? This is the kind of thing PC owners laughed at us for - they just had one version that ran on the full range of systems the game was aimed at. I know the game was nearly finished before the A1200 launched and was delayed while they found a publisher, but that doesn't really excuse it.

I never got into second samurai,... Jumping blobs? Rain clouds with eyes?.. WTF. The first one was great. The second one was a joke. No great loss if it didn't work

That's why I love the game so much, it's pure unadulterated fun and doesn't take itself too seriously.
