Yeah that would be cool. But how much PPC Aros software is there? All I see is for i386-Aros, unless the idea is just recompile everything.

the contrib package contains a whole bunch of applications and you can compile that with the right toolchain.

*Presses "I would like to know more" button*
So does it have like Hardware accelerated GL and that for PPC? I mean lets say it boots, are there OpenGL drivers for Radeon 9200 or Voodoo?

Hmm, don't know, I know AROS at least boots on sam460 PPC boards.

"AMD/ATI 2D only. External monitor support only (ie little laptop internal support) for Radeon 7000 through to x600. Experimental 2D version for up to HD3xxx", but this is taken from here: https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Aros/P...ms/x86_support

But if the drivers are compiled for PPC, they might just work?

EDIT:
I guess this means no OpenGL / 3D for radeon.

EDIT2:
https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Aros/P...ms/PPC_support

a bit outdated, but there might be some interesting information there.

Wawa is the guy to speak to about this kind of stuff.

I seem to have missed the latest discussions somehow, but the cards based on the Harrier chipset do not need pcidma memory.

Did you any speed tests? Etc Quake, SysSpeed? Do you have increased speed (compare to 400mhz)?

now do the cache
wanna get real crazy try turning the 168pin back into sdram
if you upgrade the tsi107 you can have faster bus speeds too
then you have a DIY rapture lol

just fyi anyone else courageous enough to do this you can get the cpu and faster cache off mac cpu modules

Great! Did you replace that MOSFET that blew up too?

Now for the next trick, replace the 800MHz 750FX on the Ragnarok with 1GHz 750GX.

Nothing changed. But one resistor added only.

Well I'm glad you got your Sonnet upgraded. The L2 upgrade is probably not worth it to go to 250MHz from 200MHz, unless you could find some 500MHz or 333MHz chips.

Try to run Amigenerator (640x480, frameskip=1) and let an intro run for a few hours, this hammers the L2 pretty hard. If it is not stable with that, maybe try setting SetCMemDiv=4 which should give you a 2.5 divider for 200MHz. Unless you already did that.

It could be very nice for 1GHz ifusion.

Don't get me started. I tried and failed.

I'll upgrade the bounty though. A fully working Ragnarok for porting Sheepshaver to Sonnet/Rapture/Sister of Rapture/Ragnarok. And money, I'll give the person who does this some money and a Ragnarok.

AMP2 *almost* plays DVDs correctly now but it seems like audio starts 4 seconds behind the video so it's not good.

DivX and XVid are in Frogger but not real modern mp4, they are also not all that fast.
