Imagine Companion 2.0 (or other Imagine reference) available anywhere?

Hi all,

Is "Imagine Companion 2.0" available anywhere? If you've read both it and "Understanding Imagine 2.0", how do they compare? Is the former even necessary if I have the latter?

I'm learning to model in 3D on the Amiga. Imagine 4.0 clicked almost instantly with me, and I can see this becoming my main modeler, though I have Real3D and Cinema4D ready to go when I am. I've grabbed what I could find on Imagine from the LSD docs disks, I have "3D Modeling Lab", Dare2Imagine and the IML archives from Aminet. Imagine3D.org seems to be gone, but imaginefa.com is still up thankfully. Are there any other resources I'm missing?

Thanks

I have a book of Imagine tutorials which is actually quite good for understanding some of the more advanced features. I can't scan it for another couple of months (out of country) but I'd be happy to share when I get back.

I'd love to see what docs you have for Imagine too. I've kind of given up on it and moved to LW but Imagine is where I got my start, I'd love to able to to do some more sophisticated work with it.

That'd be awesome. Please, and thank you! Here is the list of what I have so far.
(sorry, not sure how to organize the list)

3D Modeling Lab - Book on Imagine 2 for PC (but works on Amiga) and ImageMan (image processor for Windows).
Dare 2 Imagine - Highlights from the Imagine Mailing List. AmigaGuide format.
Imagine.Compendium - Similar to Dare 2 Imagine. Text format.
Imagine.Compendium.Appendices - Addenda for Imagine.Compendium. Text format.
Imagine Mailing List Archives - Uncurated digests of Imagine Mailing List messages. It is more useful as a series of snapshots of the scene, but there are some tips and tricks to be had. Mix of AmigaGuide and text formats.
Understanding Imagine 2.0 - Steve Worley's manual/tutorial for Imagine 2.0, still useful for later versions. PDF format.
ImagineReference.Doc - Reference Manual by Rick Rodriguez. Text format.
ImagineTutorial.Doc - Tutorial Manual, companion to the Reference Manual, by Rick Rodriguez
CU Amiga Imagine 4 Tutorials - Collected into a single PDF.

I'm not sure EAB sends notifications for edits so, just in case, I'm making a new post for my list. I'm still looking for any information I can, especially on the advanced features. The states and particles both seem like something I'll be using a lot once I get there on skills.

Floppy disk

I have just uploaded 'Understanding Imagine 2.0 (1992)(Apex Software Publishing)[req. Imagine]' to 'The Zone'.

I just created a disk image of the original disk that comes with the book 'Understanding Imagine 2.0'. It appears this is not in TOSEC.

Quote:
README

This is the companion diskette to the book "Understanding Imagine 2.0"
by Steven Worley. To be honest, the files on this disk have almost no
direct correlation with the text, they are just bonus toys for you to
play with.

The two objects included are a lot of fun to play with. The lamp in
particular is a high quality photorealistic object modelled from the
one that is on my desk. You are free to use these objects in your own
animations and scenes (including commercial work) but please do not
redistribute the objects themselves. The other files (the ones with
READMEs) ARE redistributable if you would like to share them others.

Have fun, and keep on rendering!

Steven Worley

January 3, 1992.

I was In contact with Duberman, and the book Imagine Companion is now under Creative Commons. Enjoy.https://amigasourcepres.gitlab.io/page/books/tools/

That's excellent. Maybe the ADF can also be committed to that gitlab repository.
