USB DVD-Drive

Hi there folks, i wonder if there's around any sort of driver to use a DVD USB unit on Classic OS? Or maybe my Subway controller will detect it without problems?

You'll need a ISO9660 / Rockridge CDFS file system driver.

Pretty sure OS3.5+ has its own.

OS3.1 users can use the one bundled with IDEFix (even if you are not using an IDE ATAPI drive).

I think if you have an elbox 4-port IDE adapter comes with a Allegro CDFS which should work with USB and it is the only one to support UDF (but very few DVD disks are UDF only)

There was a 3rd party tool from Asimware.

I think there are some free ones on Aminet.

If you don't have an Elbox 4-port IDE adapter, you can download Allegro CDFS from the Vesalia website:

EIDE '99
EIDE '99 v3.1 & AllegroCDFS v3.0 (for the 4xEIDE adapter)
FastATA '99
FastATA '99 v5.6 & AllegroCDFS v3.1 (for the FastATA2/EIDE controller)
FastATA 4000
FastATA 4000 v2.2 & AllegroCDFS v3.1 (for the FastATA4000 controller)

Pretty sure Allegro doesnt work if it doesnt detect elbox hardware.
