Sensi may have trashed KO2 but Goal! is still the best football game ever. Dino Dini rocks (well, his games anyway!).

Yup. Still dunno why the title screen of KO2 has rubbing out signs from an written error! How hard could it have been to tidy it up properly? LOL

KO2 is still my all-time favourite.. man, did we play that a lot whenever we needed a break from democoding, back in the 90's :-)

I laughed when he said that there is no centre circle in the ST version as the ST couldnt cope with that!

Sorry I really dislike/d Kick Off, Goal and I seem to remember Dino Dini's attitude too, but that's beside the point. Tastes are tastes.

Sounds familiar! Great time it was and LOTS of cursing involved, many broken funsticks too. And then Goal! was released and no one cared about KO2 anymore. :P

Haha, that made my day. A man of great taste.

The video is quite interesting. So far I have only watched the first 20 minutes, but:

1) At 16:XX he states that the ST version was developed first, so I am not that certain if the Amiga original game status in the HOL entry (unless it was finished/published first on Amiga?):
http://hol.abime.net/2558

2) At 18:XX (AI VS AI) he says that he developed the game first by having the two teams being CPU controlled and that only later, when he was satisfied with the way the game played when watched, he took care of player controls (and therefore interaction with the game).

I find it an interesting development process. I wonder how many games which allow 1P vs 2P, 1P vs CPU (and sometimes CPU vs CPU) were developed this way and if they generally have a better AI compared to others.

Added!!!!

Edit: 31:38 it is clear that the Amiga version is the second one ("I then had to make the Amiga version")

Games before Dino Dini were good but not really football. Goal! is still so amazing to me. Dribble along like real, real player names, build the team you like.

If I remember correctly there's a "Bug" in the first Kick Off. You can score from midfield. Maybe I'm wrong?

I did not miss out on this wilshy! I did not recognize the detail with the goalkeeper before!

Edit: I think this was in part one though.
