open adf on real amiga (no floppy emulator)

is it possible to open .adf files on real amiga without writing them to real floppy?
could write .adf to floppy using adf blitzer or adfer, but i just want to open them.
want to open normal formatted application disks, no foreign ndos disk like games.
is there any software providing such a feature without hardware floppy emulator?

Yes! I use "ADF Device" It is a cool little utility. it comes with a script file and you just type "execute insert.script FILENAME.ADF" and you can chose a virtual floppy drive to "insert" the ADF file into. Works like a charm for me. Only thing that won't work is inserting a bootable disk into a virtual DF0: and re-setting your Amiga hoping to boot from the ADF. Once you re-boot the virtual drive is no longer mounted.

Here is the link to ADF Device: http://bfugl.dk/Download.asp

Good luck!

Yes, this will only work if the ADFs are DOS disks though.
I use the XFS device to mount them as virtual disks. You can mount lots of other cool things with this device too:

Made a little video demonstrating it a long while ago:

There are a number of options - personally I use diskimage.device, which gives you a virtual device into which you "insert" images. It can mount ADFs as well as CD ISOs and even HDF images from UAE. It comes with a CLI tool for inserting and ejecting images, but there's also a small GUI (DiskImageGUI on Aminet) available which makes it very handy to use.
